SEOUL NATIONAL UNIVERSITY GLOBAL KOREA SCHOLARSHIP (GKS) (FULLY FUNDED)

The following are the scholarship programs offered for undergraduate applicants. Students may apply for the programs before or during the admission application period. Applicants may find program details via this website or from the supporting organizations.

ELIGIBILITY:

International applicants who wish to apply for undergraduate programs of SNU.

Application Period: September

Selection Procedure: Applicants submit applications for this program to Korean embassies in their countries → The embassies make the first selection. → The National Institute for International Education makes the final selection

BENEFIT:

Full tuition fee: tuition exemption for 8 semesters

Living expenses: 1,133,330 KRW per month

* The monthly allowance includes expenses for living and studying in Korea, such as living expenses, textbooks, insurance premiums, TOPIK scholarships, etc.

Airfare: one economy round trip

Korean language training fee: one year

Korean language training is mandatory, and if the student does not achieve TOPIK grade 3 within a year, he is not eligible to enter the degree program.

Others: medical insurance, settlement and returning expenses

UNIVERSITY OF WATERLOO INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIP

LOCATION: Canada

The new international fee-paying students admitted to full-time, first-year degree studies starting in September 2026 will receive $10,000 for their first-year studies. No application is required. As an international student, you’ll be automatically considered for most of our scholarships.

ELIGIBILITY:

International fee-paying students admitted to a full-time, first-year degree program at Waterloo starting in September 2026. This includes students applying from CEGEP.

There are two conditions:

You need to be enrolled full-time (three or more courses) in your first and second terms at Waterloo..

You need to continue to be an international fee-paying student. If your residency status changes either before or during the term, and/or if you’re no longer required to pay the higher international study permit tuition fees, you’ll no longer be eligible to receive the scholarship.

You don’t need to apply. Students who are eligible will be automatically granted the scholarship. It will appear on the Awards and financial aid tab in the Waterloo applicant portal starting in mid-April.

The scholarship is not available to the following students.

Medical Sciences (Waterloo) and Doctor of Medicine (St. George’s University) students

Bachelor of Social Work, Doctor of Optometry, Doctor of Pharmacy students

Transfer students admitted with transfer credits.

Students who deferred their admission from September 2025 to September 2026.

Students enrolled in a 2+2 and other similar x+y programs.

BENEFIT:

$10,000

The first installment ($5,000) will be available in late July to help pay your first-term tuition. The second installment ($5,000) will be available to help pay your second-term tuition in late November.
