ENERGY GLOBE AWARD

LOCATION: Austria

The objective of the ENERGY GLOBE Award is to present successful sustainable projects to a global audience and to demonstrate that for most of our environmental problems feasible solutions are already available.

ELIGIBILITY:

Any company, organization (i.e. NGO, club, school, university), individual or public authority that contributes to climate change and other environmental issues.

Thet award projects in the categories: Earth, Fire, Water, Air and Youth. The are looking for projects that provide solutions to air, soil and water pollution, apply renewables and increase energy efficiency, demonstrate sustainable use of our planet’s resources, and contribute to the environmental education. No project is too big or too small!

An applicant can submit more than one project. A project can be submitted in any country, regardless of whether we have awarded a project in this country before.

FAO KING BHUMBOL WORLD SOIL DAY AWARD

LOCATION: Thailand

The Award is sponsored by the Kingdom of Thailand, the champion country in the establishment of the now-famous World Soil Day. The UN General Assembly decided in December 2013 to officially designate 5 December as World Soil Day to acknowledge the lifelong work and commitment of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand who has significantly contributed to improving the quality of lives of millions through sustainable soil management.

ELIGIBILITY:

The Award may be granted to individuals, institutions, NGOs, academia, colleges and universities, private companies or any other entities;

A wide range of WSD events can be considered for the award. The event has to follow the WSD theme of the year and has to take place between 1 – 15 Dec.

BENEFITS:

The award consists of a medal, a USD 15 000 cheque, as well as a trip to Thailand (if feasible) to receive the prize.
