The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program aimed at enabling the most promising young leaders from across Africa to access an ALU education, despite financial adversity or economic hardship.
ELIGIBILITY:
The African Leadership University (ALU) is an undergraduate and postgraduate institution that uses a unique and innovative learning model that integrates students’ learning with the real world and empowers students to take ownership of their own learning.
The language of instruction at the African Leadership University is English. Applicants must supply evidence of English proficiency appropriate for University study (currently B2).
ALU welcomes all driven and passionate learners committed to shaping Africa’s future, from anywhere in the world, to apply to their degree programmes. They embrace applicants with nontraditional interests and backgrounds. To that end, we have an intentionally simple admissions process. They trust our applicants to know if they will be a good fit at ALU.
To ensure students have adequate academic preparation for ALU’s rigorous course of study, all applicants must submit proof of completion of secondary education and select proficiency exams (in some instances).
BENEFIT:
The program implements a full scholarship programme and places particular emphasis on young women, refugees, and differently-abled young Africans.
Application Deadline: Scholarship payments are processed in November and February.
LOCATION: Canada
Laurentian University is here to help you achieve your educational, career and personal goals by making education at a Canadian university the most accessible ever! Their scholarships recognize academic achievements and are awarded based on admission average.
ELIGIBILITY:
The scholarships are renewable in subsequent years for a maximum of three years or upon graduation, whichever comes first, provided that the average remains above 80% (LU GPA = 7.5) and all of the other disbursement and renewal regulations are met. To continue the scholarship at the same value, the average in subsequent years must remain above 80% (7.5 GPA) or 90% (9.5 GPA). If the average decreases in subsequent years, the award will be recalculated on the basis of the above scholarship grid as long as an 80% (GPA = 7.5) average is maintained. If you fail to meet all disbursement and renewal regulations at any point, you will no longer be eligible. For scholarship purposes, the average calculation is not rounded up.
Scholarships are for students in undergraduate programs only
Students with a prior degree are not eligible for the Laurentian University International Academic Excellence Scholarships.
To renew the scholarship, students must have studied full-time in the previous academic year (30 credits—of which 24 credits must have been taken in the Fall/Winter term) (the academic year is defined as May to April of each year for scholarship purposes) and attained a minimum average of 80% (GPA = 7.5).
Scholarship payments are processed in November and February.
