AIDS 2026 SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME

The AIDS 2026 Scholarship Programme provides financial assistance to selected applicants from around the world to attend AIDS 2026 in person or virtually. The programme is intended for individuals who would otherwise not have the financial means to attend AIDS 2026. It supports applicants who contribute to the conference programme, as well as those who can demonstrate that they will transfer the skills and knowledge acquired at the conference to the work they undertake in their own organizations and communities.

ELIGIBILITY:

The following candidates will be given priority: 

Abstract presenters, workshop facilitators and co-facilitators, and Global Village organizers and co-organizers whose submission has been selected for the conference

Applicants from low- and middle-income countries

Applicants who are part of key populations and people living with HIV

Young people and early-career investigators below the age of 35

Applicants who did not previously receive a scholarship for an International AIDS Conference 

BENEFIT:

Support for in-person attendance includes:

In-person plus virtual registration, including:

In-person access to all conference sessions, satellite sessions, poster discussion sessions, the exhibition, the Global Village and pre-conferences

Online access to all conference sessions, satellite sessions and pre-conferences streamed live on the platform; session recordings and on-demand content; the e-posters; and the virtual Global Village

Travel support (prepaid economy class return ticket from the nearest international airport in your country of residence) for the dates of the conference

Accommodation (single room in a budget hotel) for the duration of the conference

Daily living allowance for each day of the conference

IAS – THE INTERNATIONAL AIDS SOCIETY YOUTH HUB SEED GRANT PROGRAMME

The IAS will support a new cohort of five Young Leaders with seed grants of USD 10,000 each to scale up HIV-related innovation projects that respond to a locally defined need. Each Young Leader must be affiliated with and logistically supported by an organization working in HIV and/or sexual and reproductive health and rights or related areas. Applications are now open.

ELIGIBILITY:

The Young Leader must:

Be connected to an organization that is willing and able to provide mentorship and logistical support for the proposed Young Leader’s project

Be between 18 and 30 years old (and ideally under 25)

Be willing to attend AIDS 2026 from 26 to 31 July 2026

Be able and willing to report and communicate with the IAS in English

The host organization must:

Be a registered charitable organization and willing to undergo additional eligibility checks

Be able and willing to provide a point of contact who will actively mentor the selected applicant as a Young Leader

Be able and willing to logistically support its Young Leader in the day-to-day aspects of the implementation of its innovation project

Be able and willing to report and communicate with the IAS in English

Be able and willing to receive, as well as manage, all funds related to the seed grant

Selected Young Leaders will be awarded:

Travel to AIDS 2026, the 26th International AIDS Conference, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
