YORK UNIVERSITY PRESIDENT’S INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP OF EXCELLENCE

The President’s International Scholarship of Excellence will be awarded to international high school applicants who are entering their first year of a four-year undergraduate degree program at York University and demonstrate academic excellence, commitment to volunteer work and extracurricular activities, and leadership skills.

ELIGIBILITY:

Must be an international student who is required to have a Study Permit to study in Canada

Must have applied to an undergraduate degree program at York that begins in Fall 2025

Must have applied to York directly from high school no more than two years after graduation, and have no previous university or college studies (not applicable to Tentanda Via Award) 

Must have an excellent academic record with a minimum “A” average or equivalent (where applicable)

Must have demonstrated leadership through community service or excellence in the arts, sports, or other areas of individual achievement (where applicable)

Must upload one letter of recommendation or other supporting documents as applicable

Must ensure all required documents are shown as “Received” in the York application (MyFile), by February 15, 2025 at 11:59:59pm, Eastern Time

Must complete and submit the online International Student Scholarship Application by February 15, 2025 at 11:59:59pm, Eastern TimeA minimum 80% (A) final admission average is required for consideration. Financial need may also be considered in the selection process.

Recipients will represent a variety of regions around the world and will be referred to as “President’s International Scholars”.

This scholarship will be renewable for an additional three years of full-time study or until degree completion (whichever comes first) provided the recipient completes a minimum of 24 credits each Fall/Winter session with a minimum sessional grade point average of 6.0.

If the recipient’s immigration status changes at any time while studying at York and they are exempted from paying international fees for any reason, the value of this award will be adjusted to reflect domestic tuition fee values.

This scholarship cannot be held in conjunction with the York University Continuing Student Scholarship.

BENEFIT:

$180,000 ($45,000 x 4 years)

DALHOUSIE UNIVERSITY ABDUL MAJID BADER GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP

LOCATION: Canada

Dalhousie University is inviting exceptional Iranian or International students to apply for the Abdul Majid Bader Graduate Scholarship. The scholarship is renewable, subject to an annual progress review. The award can be held for a maximum of 24 months of full-time study. Fees are not waived and must be paid out of the prize.

ELIGIBILITY:

Applicants from Iran will be given first preference for the award, with international students being considered if there are no Iranian candidates. 

Students with first-class academic standing (>3.7/4.3)  in their last two years of academic study may apply. Preference is given to students who have not yet started their degree or are in the first year of their PhD program at the time of application.

Students enrolled in a master’s program at the time of application are not eligible to apply.

Students who have applied to master’s programs are eligible to apply.

Students who are enrolled in or have applied to doctoral programs are eligible to apply.

Applications for the Bader scholarship are received through the Harmonized Scholarship Process

Applicants who indicate Iranian citizenship in their Harmonized Scholarship application will be automatically entered into the competition for this award.

One new award is made each year.

BENEFIT:

The scholarship is valued at $40,000 for one 12-month academic year of full-time study. One new award is made each year. Current award holders must contact fgs.slo@dal.ca by August 1st to apply for renewal.
