UNIVERSITY OF MANITOBA GRADUATE FELLOWSHIP (UMGF)

Each year, more than $2 million dollars in university graduate fellowships are offered to full-time master’s and PhD students to recognize and support academic excellence. The fellowships are offered to students who have demonstrated superior intellectual ability and academic accomplishment.

ELIGIBILITY:

Students must have a minimum admission GPA of 3.0 to be considered for this award. Please contact your department as they may have a higher GPA requirement.

To hold an award: Have been admitted to a graduate program at the University of Manitoba as a Master’s or Ph.D. student. Pre-master’s and Occasional students are not eligible.

Not have an active, admission‐related hold on their student account during their provisional admission period.

Be registered full‐time in a graduate program of study in the unit that recommends them for a UMGF, if they hold a UMGF award.

Departments/units determine the value and duration of an award and must meet the eligibility criteria as outlined in the eligibility table.

BENEFIT:

UMGF master’s awards are valued at $14,000 per year for 12 or 24 months, for up to a total of $28,000.

UMGF doctoral awards are valued at $18,000 per year for 12, 24, 36 or 48 months, for up to a total of $72,000.

YORK UNIVERSITY GLENDON INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP

The Glendon International Scholarship will be awarded to international students who are admitted to Glendon with top academic standing (B+/75% and higher), and who demonstrate great leadership potential and/or financial need. 

ELIGIBILITY:

Eligibility will be based on a nomination letter from the student’s school or a community organization, a complete application including a 300 word statement demonstrating their leadership attributes and the contribution they may make to Glendon campus.
