DELL TECHNOLOGIES STEM ASPIRE MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

STEM Aspire is a female mentorship program connecting 2nd year college students to mentors within Dell Technologies. Its aim is to encourage and empower enthusiastic students studying STEM based degrees to have rewarding careers in the technology sector. ​Potential areas include Computer Science, Software Engineering, BIS, Networking, Cyber Security, IT Management, or related fields.

As a female studying a STEM course in 2nd Year at 3rd level education, you qualify for the program

What area of technology you are most interested in.

Why you are interested in a mentoring program with Dell Technologies.

Successful applicants will receive a link to complete a short video interview (e.g., describe yourself, your interests, your college course, etc.)

What is expected from you?

Engagement with your mentor at least once a month (virtually or in person, to be decided by each mentee/mentor pair)

Participation in events run by the programme, including on-site events at our Dell offices (there will be 3-4 events throughout the year)

After your application, you will receive a separate communication with more details on the next steps and the structure of the mentoring program no later than October 11th.

If you are selected for the programme, you will be expected (in person or virtually) to meet with your mentor (in person or virtually) on a frequent basis (i.e., a minimum of once per month for the duration of the programme)

BENEFIT:

Opportunity to work with a mentor and engage in frequent 1-to-1 meetings whereby you can further enhance your understanding of the IT industry and gain insight into your mentors’ career/role.

Acquire an understanding of technical careers in Dell Technologies. 

Opportunity to meet and network with successful women in Dell Technologies and fellow mentees. 

Preparation for intern and graduate applications (e.g., CV and Interview Preparation, LinkedIn presence, etc).

Possibility for paid Summer Internship upon completion of the program and continue your career journey for your 3rd year placement and further.

MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS ENROLLED AT UNIVERSITÄT HAMBURG

With its merit scholarship program, Universität Hamburg supports outstanding international students and doctoral researchers in all subjects and at all degree levels who have been socially committed and actively involved in an international context. The awarding of a merit scholarship allows recipients to concentrate fully on their studies and gives them the opportunity to develop their skills.

ELIGIBILITY:

have been enrolled in your subject at Universität Hamburg for at least 2 semesters and are pursuing a degree (students in 2-year master’s degree programs and doctoral researchers can apply after 1 completed semester);

do not hold German citizenship;

are not eligible for the federal student loan scheme.

You must upload the following documents to the online application portal:

letter of motivation: please use this form (PDF)

proof of social and/or intercultural activities (if aplicable)

record of achievements: Students in a Bachelor ´s degree program and students in a degree program concluding with a state examination (“Staatsexamen”) need to submit either the STiNE printout of their “Leistungskonto” or a current transcript of records. Students in a Master ´s degree program and doctoral researchers need to submit their most recent degree certificate with grades in either English or German.

BENEFIT:

The maximum monthly funding sum is €930. Depending on the availability of funding, individual doctoral researchers may be awarded a merit scholarship totaling €1,200 per month (roughly 2–3 merit scholarships are awarded per round).

Merit scholarships are awarded for 2 semesters (total of 12 months). You can reapply for a scholarship. In well-founded exceptional cases, the maximum funding period is 3 years.
