WAYFINDER SOCIETY STUDENT MINI GRANTS

Get funding for your projects and education! These mini-grants are available to students looking for financial support for their personal education, school and community projects, internships, networking events, etc. connected to addressing the plastic crisis. This grant must be applied to your education, projects, or other efforts related to addressing the plastic problem.

ELIGIBILITY:

To be eligible to apply for a Wayfinder Society Student Mini-Grant, you need to:

Our Student Mini-Grants are open to applicants anywhere in the world! 

Be between the ages of 11-25 on the application deadline,

Have an individual account (or student account through your teacher) on Wayfinder Society

Have successfully completed these 2 Actions: The Story of Plastic – Watch the Film and The Story of Plastic – System Mapping by following the instructions and completing the form at the bottom of the page.

Be dedicated to ending plastic pollution in your classroom, school, community, or beyond.

BENEFIT:

In 2024, Wayfinder will award a total of $15,000 USD through this program!

Each winner will also receive:

Social media coverage on Algalita’s social media channels.

The opportunity to contribute to a blog post on the Wayfinder Society website.

DOUG PENSINGER PHOTOGRAPHY FUND

Application Opend: March 15; Deadline: May 1, 2024

LOCATION: USA

Apply for the the Doug Pensinger Sports Photography Fund. The 2024 application will be hosted on Picter beginning on March 15 (deadline May 1).

ELIGIBILITY:

The Doug Pensinger Photography Fund supports emerging and early-career sports photographers.

Photographers with more than 3 years cumulative paid professional sports photography experience are considered beyond the scope of the DPPF’s programs. Previous DPPF grant recipients are not eligible to apply.

The DPPF is committed to promoting inclusivity and diversity and to providing free merit-based access to its programs.

The application process is not limited to U.S. citizens, although international candidates should be aware that the DPPF is not able to provide support that is prohibited under U.S. law.

BENEFIT:

7 photographers will each receive

A $5,000 grant, to be spent on career development

Expenses-paid trip to the 2024 DPPF Sports Photography Gathering (scheduled for September 2024; see details below.)

In addition to the main grants program, the DPPF also awards Development Grants supporting sports photographers of great potential whose current portfolio quality may be affected by severe economic and/or geographic or cultural limitations. After the seven winners of the $5,000 grants are chosen, the panel will select deserving candidates from the remaining pool of applicants as recipients of Development Grants.
