GOETHE TALENTS SCHOLARSHIP

Applications for Goethe Talents Scholarship 2024 are open now! Please apply until April 2nd, 2024. The Goethe Talents Scholarship is a 12-day programme to support and connect young, aspiring musical artists including singer-songwriters and composers. The scholarship is a cooperation between the Goethe-Institut and »Pop-Kultur« and will celebrate its 10 years cooperation anniversary in 2024.

ELIGIBILITY:

Are you a young musician, composer, singer-songwriter and/or instrumentalist between ~20 and ~30 years of age?

Are you playing an instrument of any kind (from Oud to Drums) and any musical Genre?

Are you from a transitioning or so called developing country?

Do you…

… want to use your musical talent more target-oriented?

… want to share your experiences in playing music in a group?

… want to work professionally in the music field and industry and extend your networks?

BENEFIT:

The participation fee, accommodation, travel expenses, hospitality (per diem) for the period of August 22nd to September 2nd, 2024 will be covered by Goethe-Institut.

Goethe-Institut will also book and pay for flights and will assist with visa appointments.

Additionally, Musicboard Berlin will give a free Festival Ticket plus access to Pop-Kultur’s networking area for professionals to all talents, organise accommodation (breakfast included), cover health insurance and public transportation within Berlin

GERMAN BUNDESTAG IPS SUB-SAHARAN AFRICAN STATES SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME

For applications from Eastern Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda): May 31, 2024.
For applications from Southern Africa (Botswana, Namibia, South Africa ) : May 31, 2024.

LOCATION: Germany

The German Bundestag is inviting politically and socially committed young university graduates from southern Africa (Botswana, Namibia, South Africa), East Africa (Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda) and West Africa (Ghana, Nigeria and Senegal)  to a scholarship program in Berlin in January. In a four-week compact program, up to 24 scholarship holders can get to know the German parliamentary system and political decision-making processes in the German Bundestag up close.

ELIGIBILITY:

The scholarship program is aimed at highly qualified, cosmopolitan, politically interested young people from Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania and Uganda who want to take an active and responsible role in shaping the democratic future of their countries.

Applicants are invited to a selection interview at a German mission abroad, where an independent selection committee appointed by the German Bundestag selects the scholarship holders based on their technical, social, linguistic and intercultural skills.
The admission requirements:

Citizenship of a participating country (dual citizenship is possible)

youngerthan 30 years at the start of the scholarship on January 1st

completed university studies

Good knowledge of the German language (at least level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)

strong interest in political contexts as well as social/political commitment

BENEFIT:

The participants receive a scholarship of 700 euros. The scholarship also includes free accommodation in a residential complex, coverage of travel costs to and from Berlin and coverage of the costs of health, accident and liability insurance
