COMMISSION FOR DEVELOPING COUNTRIES ABEL VISITING SCHOLAR PROGRAM

The Abel Visiting Scholar Program is intended for mathematicians professionally based in developing countries to visit an international research collaborator for a period of one month. The program is designed for post doctoral mathematicians in the early stages of their professional careers. It is designed to offer the opportunity for a ‘research sabbatical,’ a necessary complement to teaching and other academic duties for mathematicians desiring to also sustain a viable research program.

ELIGIBILITY:

Applicants must

hold at the time of application a PhD in Mathematics,

be based in a developing country at the time of application (As defined by IMU)

hold a position in a university/ research institution

be in the early stages of their professional careers, more precisely: the applicants  should

not yet be of full professorial rank but have a working contract in a university/ college

be under 35 years of age at the day of the application deadline.

BENEFIT:

The Abel Visiting Scholar Program is fully funded by the Abel Prize in mathematics and is administered by the Commission for Developing Countries of the International Mathematical Union.

Usually up to 3 Grants are available per year.

PORSCHE AWARDS FOR YOUNG TALENTS IN ADVERTISING

Every year, the Porsche Awards honor young talents in advertising film. As the only international advertising award dedicated to encouraging young talents and that pursues no commercial interests, the Porsche Awards have a unique profile. The Porsche Awards have enjoyed great success over the years and has continuously gained in importance for both the advertising film industry and the press. If you are interested in the background of the award, please click here .

ELIGIBILITY:

Students from film schools, schools of art and design, apprentices, graduates and other budding directors in the field of film, television, advertising film and advertising in general throughout the world who have been on the market for less than 2 years can enter their films.

The submission to the Porsche Awards is free of charge.

The submitted films must have been produced in 2022/2023 and must not have been submitted to the Porsche Awards in any  previous year.

The submitted films must not have opening or closing credits and must not include a watermark from a university, this is to ensure that the jury can view the films with complete impartiality.

Films/projects in a language other than English must be submitted with English subtitles.

All rights (image rights, music rights) must be clarified!

The submitter confirms that the submitted film can be published on the online channels of the Porsche Awards, Porsche AG and others (for more see Rules of Entry) in the event of a nomination. If the rights cannot be granted as required, this leads to exclusion from the competition.

All films must be prepared with the following properties: File format: Quicktime H.264/Frame rate: 25 fps (or original framerate) Quality: 100% (optimal)/Encoding: VBR, Multipass (best quality) Data rate: 20,000 kbit/Sound: AAC 256 kbit/s, 48 kHz Resolution: HD: 1920×1080

BENEFIT:

The winners in each category will each receive a trophy and a financial prize of €4,911.
