IFT FIRST TRAVEL SCHOLARSHIPS

Taking place in Chicago, IL, from July 13-16, 2025, IFT FIRST brings together global experts to explore how science and innovation are transforming food systems. Through presentations, panels, and networking, you’ll learn about the latest trends, breakthroughs, and challenges shaping the future of food. ELIGIBILITY:

Travel stipends are open to all students, regardless of membership status.

Applicants must be graduate or undergraduate students pursuing a degree in food science or a related field. Certain scholarships may have specific eligibility as determined by the sponsor.

Applicants must not be receiving funding from another source.

Recipients will need to submit a written testimonial regarding their experience at IFT FIRST and a thank-you note to the sponsor.

Recipients will be required to submit a W-9 form for a U.S. domestic student and a W8BEN for students located outside of the U.S.

TASMANIA GRADUATE RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIP (TGRS)

Tasmania Graduate Research Scholarships are available across all research disciplines at the University of Tasmania and will be awarded to applicants with demonstrated research ability.

ELIGIBILITY:

To be eligible to hold a Tasmania Graduate Research Scholarship, applicants must:

Be eligible to enrol in a full-time Masters by Research or Doctoral degree at the University of Tasmania in 2025; and,

Not be receiving equivalent income to support their general living costs from another source related to their proposed research degree (equivalent being defined as greater than 75% of the base stipend rate).

The scholarship holder is expected to diligently pursue the degree for which they are enrolled. Continued payment of the scholarship is therefore subject to the scholarship holder making satisfactory academic progress and terminates on the expiry of the scholarship or on submission of the thesis for examination, whichever is the sooner.

Standard Duration: PhD: 3.5 years FTE. It is important to be aware that the duration of the scholarship is less than the maximum length of candidature, which is 4 years.

Masters: 2 years FTE.

Please Note: The TGRS does not cover costs and fees, such as the Student Services and Amenities Fee, Overseas Health Cover, and visa costs. These are the candidate’s responsibilities.

BENEFIT:

Living Allowance: AUD $33,511 per annum (2025 rate). This rate is indexed annually on 1st January.

Relocation Allowance: The TGRS provides an allowance to assist with costs associated with relocating to Tasmania to undertake a Higher Degree by Research up to AUD $2,000.
