KHALIFA UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY MASTER’S SCHOLARSHIPS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Application Deadline: Monday, 14th April 2025.

LOCATION: UAE

The scholarship supports international students pursuing a Master’s degree at Khalifa University. Scholarship eligibility is assessed as part of the admission process and applicants are not required to submit a separate scholarship application. 

ELIGIBILITY:

The number of available scholarship slots is limited. All applicants are evaluated and mapped to a specific scholarship Tier on the basis of academic merit and other relevant factors, in line with Khalifa University’s strategic priorities, rules, and regulations.  Meeting the eligibility criteria for a specific Tier does not guarantee a scholarship award.

Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.0 out of 4.0, or equivalent (e.g. an upper second-class honors in a UK-style degree, from a reputable accredited institution).

A minimum level of English proficiency in the form of either:

iBT TOEFL (internet-based test) score of 91 (The test must be taken at a test center as the TOEFL iBT Home Edition is not accepted) or equivalent, or

Overall academic IELTS score of 6.5, or

1550 EmSAT English score

A minimum of two referee recommendations (provided via online form).

Statement of purpose (500-1,000 words).

Tier I and Tier II (Full-Time or Part-Time):

Full coverage of tuition fees.

Textbooks provided by the University.

Free University accommodation for eligible full-time students only.

Medical insurance coverage for full-time international students sponsored by Khalifa University.

Mobilization and demobilization flights (between home country and Abu Dhabi) for full-time overseas international students, subject to University policies and procedures. Mobilization flight is not applicable for Students holding a UAE residence visa.

Coverage of UAE visa application fees for full-time international students.

Tier III (Full-Time or Part-Time):

50% waiver of tuition fees.

Textbooks provided by the University.

Medical insurance coverage for full-time international students sponsored by Khalifa University.

RICHARD J. VAN LOON SCHOLARSHIP

Application Deadline: February 1, 2025

LOCATION: Canada

Awarded annually, on the recommendation of the Richard J. Van Loon Scholarship Committee to an outstanding international student from an African country. Eligible recipients will be full-time students proceeding from one year to another in any program of study at Carleton University. Consideration will be given to students in financial need. Application is required.

ELIGIBILITY:

Applicant must be a citizen of an African country

Applicant must be an international student, who is required to have a valid study permit for Canada

Applicant must be proceeding from one year to another in an academic program at Carleton University

Applicant must be enrolled full time

Applicant must be in good academic standing

Preference will be given to students in financial need

BENEFIT:

This scholarship is valued at $5,000. Two scholarships will be awarded.
