Bangor University is proud to introduce their flagship Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship for excellent international students.

The university is looking to award the scholarship to students demonstrating academic excellence and notable achievements in their social and professional lives. as well as in their extracurricular activities. 

ELIGIBILITY:

The Vice-Chancellor scholarship is for outstanding international applicants with

UndergraduateExcellent Academic Background – students who have already achieved or are predicted to achieve an A grade or equivalent in at least 50% of their subjects/courses PLUSnotable achievements in extra-curricular activities which could include a range of activities such as voluntary and community work; sporting excellence; excellence in the arts, leadership roles, fundraising, representing their region or country in national or international conferences; quality work placements or proven entrepreneurship skills.The scholarship is only open to undergraduate students completing a full 3 or 4-year degree on campus at Bangor University. It is not open to students with advanced standing into years 2 or 3 or partner students articulating into Year 2 or 3
Postgraduate TaughtExcellent Academic Background – achieved or on course to achieve the equivalent of a UK 1st class Bachelors degree.Demonstrated commitment towards sustainable development in your own country and working towards supporting future generations. 

You must be self-funding. Candidates who are fully sponsored by a third party will not be entitled to this scholarship.

Only open to students paying International Tuition Fee Levels. 

The above scholarship is available for full-time on-campus courses only.

Not open to students studying at Bangor University International College (BUIC).

Not open to Non-graduating students, e.g., study abroad

MAKERERE UNIVERSITY MASTERCARD FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS FOR MASTERS PROGRAMMES 2026/2027

Application Deadline: Friday, 5th June 2026, at 11:59 p.m. EAT.

LOCATION: Uganda

The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at Makerere University aims to deepen inclusive university education and support 1,000 young people from Africa to access quality education and transition into dignified and fulfilling work. This is achieved by providing scholarships to academically talented young men and women from Sub-Saharan Africa whose access to higher education is constrained by social and economic barriers.

Makerere University is pleased to announce 13 master’s scholarships under the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program for students joining the Makerere University Main Campus in the 2026/2027 academic year.

ELIGIBILITY:

To apply for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at Makerere University’s main campus

An applicant must belong to one of the following categories: 

Refugee or Internally Displaced Person (IDP) 

Young persons with disabilities  

International students

Young people living in a refugee host community

Young people from underrepresented ethnic groups in Uganda

Other Ugandan youth

The applicant must have applied for admission to Makerere University’s main campus for 2026/2027.

The applicant must have completed their undergraduate education in an African country.

The applicant should be experiencing financial constraints that limit their ability to afford graduate education.

The applicant must not be a holder of any other scholarship.

The applicant must not be pursuing or have completed any Master’s degree studies.

The applicant must have demonstrated engagement in leadership and/or community service.

The applicant must be 35 years or younger at the application deadline. 

Applicants in the refugee, Internally Displaced Persons and s young persons with disabilities categories must be under 40 years of age at the application deadline.

A refugee applicant must hold a valid Refugee Identity card or Family Attestation documentation.

The applicant must have applied for degree programmes prioritised under the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program. Click here to view the list of priority programmes.
