ISS DAKAR: JUNIOR FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME, 2025–2026

LOCATION: Senegal

The Institute for Security Studies (ISS) and the Bosch Foundation are empowering West Africa’s next generation of policy leaders through a flagship program on ‘Gender, human security, and geopolitics.’ Exceptional young West Africans (especially women) are invited to apply for the first intake of four fellows.

ELIGIBILITY:

As a fellow, you will spend 10 months working with leading African experts in Dakar to understand the governance challenges preventing West Africa from reaching its full potential. You will gain rare access to top decision-makers and help craft policy solutions. Fellows have a unique opportunity to build connections that unlock various careers in human security policymaking and practice.

Be a citizen of any West African country

Be under 30 years of age

Hold a Master’s degree in international relations, political science, law, anthropology, sociology, or related fields

Have a strong interest in security, gender, democracy, governance, or geopolitics

Be fluent in English or French; additional West African languages are a plus

Be a confident communicator, self-motivated, and eager to grow in a dynamic team

UNIVERSITY OF WESTERN AUSTRALIA GLOBAL EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP

LOCATION: Australia

The University of Western Australia is offering the Global Excellence Scholarship to high-achieving international students from across the globe who choose to study with us.

The Global Excellence Scholarship is an annual tuition fee discount for the normal full-time duration of the awardee’s course as specified in their letter of offer. The value of the scholarship is determined by the applicant’s equivalent Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) or UWA weighted average mark (WAM).

ELIGIBILITY:

Students from all countries are eligible. You will need to:

have received an offer for an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate course at The University of Western Australia for 2025 intake

have achieved an equivalent:

minimum ATAR 85.00; or

minimum WAM 65.00

If studying an approved International Academic Pathway (Articulation Program), students must have achieved a WAM equivalent of more than 75.00

Undergraduate eligibility: To be eligible to be considered for the scholarship, a candidate must be applying for an eligible undergraduate bachelor’s degree or Assured Pathway course. The following exclusions apply:

Postgraduate eligibility: To be eligible to be considered for the scholarship, a candidate must be applying for an eligible postgraduate degree (by coursework). The following exclusions apply:

Doctor of Dental Medicine (91860)

Doctor of Optometry (91590)

UWA Micro-credentials

Combined Bachelor’s and Combined Bachelors & Master’s (CBM) eligibility: All Combined Bachelor’s and Combined Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees are considered eligible.

Whilst most of these degrees are over four years (based on 8 semesters of full time study), the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Bachelor of Commerce; and Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Bachelor of Science; are over five years (based on 10 semesters of full time study)

The scholarship is automatically awarded to those who are eligible based on ATAR/WAM requirements.

BENEFIT:

Undergraduate: Scholarship value over 4 years is up to AUD $48,000

Postgraduate: Total scholarship value for 2 years is up to AUD $24,000

Combined Bachelor’s and Combined Bachelor’s & Master’s (CBM): eligible students will receive up to $60,000 over five years (yearly eligible amounts based on WAM).
