UNIVERSITY OF WESTERN AUSTRALIA GLOBAL EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP

LOCATION: Australia

The University of Western Australia is offering the Global Excellence Scholarship to high-achieving international students from across the globe who choose to study with us.

The Global Excellence Scholarship is an annual tuition fee discount for the normal full-time duration of the awardee’s course as specified in their letter of offer. The value of the scholarship is determined by the applicant’s equivalent Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) or UWA weighted average mark (WAM).

ELIGIBILITY:

Students from all countries are eligible. You will need to:

have received an offer for an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate course at The University of Western Australia for 2025 intake

have achieved an equivalent:

minimum ATAR 85.00; or

minimum WAM 65.00

If studying an approved International Academic Pathway (Articulation Program), students must have achieved a WAM equivalent of more than 75.00

Undergraduate eligibility: To be eligible to be considered for the scholarship, a candidate must be applying for an eligible undergraduate bachelor’s degree or Assured Pathway course. The following exclusions apply:

Postgraduate eligibility: To be eligible to be considered for the scholarship, a candidate must be applying for an eligible postgraduate degree (by coursework). The following exclusions apply:

Juris Doctor (20820)

Doctor of Medicine (91850)

Doctor of Dental Medicine (91860)

Doctor of Optometry (91590)

UWA Micro-credentials

Combined Bachelor’s and Combined Bachelors & Master’s (CBM) eligibility: All Combined Bachelor’s and Combined Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees are considered eligible.

Whilst most of these degrees are over four years (based on 8 semesters of full time study), the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Bachelor of Commerce; and Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Bachelor of Science; are over five years (based on 10 semesters of full time study)

The scholarship is automatically awarded to those who are eligible based on ATAR/WAM requirements.

BENEFIT:

Undergraduate: Scholarship value over 4 years is up to AUD $48,000

Postgraduate: Total scholarship value for 2 years is up to AUD $24,000

Combined Bachelor’s and Combined Bachelor’s & Master’s (CBM): eligible students will receive up to $60,000 over five years (yearly eligible amounts based on WAM).

CALL FOR PROPOSALS: BEST THESIS AWARD 2025—POWER ENGINEERING TRANSMISSION

Are you writing a thesis at a university of applied sciences in the field of power engineering transmission? Then you can put your bachelor’s or master’s thesis forward for the “Best Thesis Award 2025—Power Engineering Transmission”! The Swissmem Environmental Engineering Industry Sector awards the “Best Thesis Award” for outstanding Bachelor’s or Master’s theses related to the field of “power engineering transmission”.

ELIGIBILITY:

Course Level: Bachelor’s or Master’s thesis

University or Organization: Swissmem—Power Engineering Transmission Industry Sector

Nationality: Open to all nationalities

Acceptable Courses or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for theses related to:

Mechanical drive technology

Electric drive technology

Condition monitoring

Software solutions/simulation

Be enrolled at a university of applied sciences, university, or federal institute of technology.

Submit a Bachelor’s or Master’s thesis with an implementation period between 01.09.2024 and 31.08.2025.

Demonstrate a clear reference to power engineering transmission.

Submit all required documents, including:

Thesis subject and abstract/description in English

University and supervisor details

Applicant’s personal details (including email and phone number)

Complete thesis report (PDF), CV, supervisor’s evaluation with final grade, a 5-minute video presentation, and PowerPoint slides for the award ceremony presentation

Approval from the expert panel is required prior to thesis submission (includes NDA).
