UNIVERSITY OF AUCKLAND MASTER OF HEALTH LEADERSHIP—INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS

The main purpose of the Scholarship is to support international students to develop leadership capabilities for the health sector and further their careers in health management, health care quality improvement, international health management and health leadership in their communities by enrolling into the Master of Health Leadership at the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences.

ELIGIBILITY:

The scholarships will be awarded to new international students applying for admission to a Master of Health Leadership at the University of Auckland Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences. Students who have commenced study in a Master of Health Leadership are not eligible for consideration for these scholarships.

To take up and be paid the Scholarships the candidate must be enrolled and have paid the fees, or arranged to pay the fees, for full-time enrolment in a Master of Health Leadership in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.

The Scholarships are tenable by international students.

The basis of selection will be academic merit; successful applicants will have a GPA or GPE of at least 5.00 in their most recent qualifying programme.

The selection committee may consider the country of origin of the candidate to align with the University’s strategic aims.

The Scholarships will be awarded by the University of Auckland Council on the recommendation of a selection committee comprising the Associate Dean – Education of the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences (or nominee) and the International Manager of the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences (or nominee).

The Scholarship will be paid as a compulsory fees credit of up to $5,000 per Semester.

The Scholarship may be held concurrently with any other award or grant as long as a) the terms of that award or grant permit and b) the University of Auckland Council is informed and approves.

The University of Auckland Council, in consultation with the Donor, has the power to terminate or suspend a Scholarship if it receives an unsatisfactory report on the progress of a Scholar from the Associate Dean of the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences.

The University of Auckland Council is not obliged to make an award if in any year there is no candidate of sufficient merit. The University of Auckland Council has the power to amend or vary these Regulations, in consultation with the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, provided that there is no departure from the main purpose of the Scholarship.

BENEFIT:

Up to ten scholarships will be awarded, each for the duration of the programme and will be of the value of up to $15,000 each.

UNIVERSITY OF AUCKLAND INTERNATIONAL STUDENT EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP

Application Opens: 11 September 2025 (Semester One 2026/Quarter 1 2026/Quarter 2 2026 intake); Deadline: 23 October 2025 (Semester One 2026/Quarter 1 2026/Quarter 2 2026 intake)

The University of Auckland International Student Excellence Scholarship was established in 2016. The main purpose of the scholarship is to attract new international students of high caliber to enroll in an undergraduate or postgraduate study for one year or more at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland.

ELIGIBILITY:

To be eligible for Scholarship consideration, an applicant must:

Be an international student

Be either a new student who has received a conditional or unconditional offer of admission, or an English Language Academy (ELA) student who has received a conditional or unconditional offer of admission, or a student enrolled, or enrolling, in the Summer Start International programme who has received a conditional or unconditional offer of admission and

Be enrolled, or enrolling, full-time in either a Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) or master’s degree, or an undergraduate degree (applying with overseas secondary or post-secondary qualifications), or a UoA: Your Way Master of Engineering Project Management programme, or a UoA: Your Way Master of Civil Engineering programme at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland.

Students who have already commenced study at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland, excluding study in the Summer Start International programme, students who have undertaken any tertiary level study in New Zealand, or students enrolling in a Business master programme in the Graduate School of Management (GSM), excluding the Master of Applied Finance, the Master of Business Analytics and the Master of Supply Chain Management, are not eligible to apply for this Scholarship.

A grade point equivalent (GPE) of at least 6.00 is required for Scholarship consideration

The University of Auckland Council is not obliged to make an award if it is determined there is no candidate that meets the criteria and/or no candidate of sufficient merit.

The University of Auckland Council can amend or vary these Regulations, provided that there is no departure from the main purpose of the Scholarship.

Applications close with the Scholarships Office on 23 October in the year preceding the award for study commencing in Semester One, Quarter One, and Quarter Two, and 1 April in the year of the award for study commencing in Semester Two, Quarter Three, and Quarter Four.
