UNIVERSITY OF ABERDEEN CROOM ROBERTSON SCHOLARSHIPS FOR HOME AND INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Applications are invited for the Croom Robertson scholarships. These scholarships are open to candidates applying to the PhD programme in Philosophy who hold an undergraduate or postgraduate degree from the University of Aberdeen. Eligible candidates’ University of Aberdeen degree need not be in Philosophy.

ELIGIBILITY:

Applicants must hold a degree, whether undergraduate or postgraduate, from the University of Aberdeen.

A pre-doctoral postgraduate degree in Philosophy (e.g. M.Litt., M.Phil., etc) is desirable but not essential.

Candidates must study full-time on-campus. The scholarships will be awarded on the strength of candidates’ overall profiles as presented in their PhD applications including academic and/or professional achievement, research proposal, and letters of reference.

BENEFIT:

The value of each scholarship is a stipend of £15,000 per academic year for 36 months of supervised study.

SINGAPORE INTERNATIONAL GRADUATE AWARD (SINGA)

LOCATION: Singapore

The Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA) is a collaboration among the Agency for Science, Technology & Research (A*STAR), the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), the National University of Singapore (NUS), the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), the Singapore Management University (SMU), and the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT). It is a bond-free award offered to international students with excellent academic undergraduate and/or master’s results, and strong interest in doing research leading to a doctorate (PhD) or an EngD in Science and Engineering at a Singapore University.

ELIGIBILITY:

Open for application to all international graduates with a passion for research and excellent academic results
Note: SINGA is intended primarily for international students studying for the first time in Singapore. Singaporeans, Singapore Permanent Residents and International students studying/who have studied in Singapore tertiary institutions are not eligible.

Good reports from academic referees

BENEFIT:

The award provides support for up to 4 years of PhD studies including:

Tuition fees

Monthly stipend of S$2,700 which will be increased to S$3,200 after the passing of the Qualifying Examination*

One-time airfare grant of up to S$1,500

One-time settling-in allowance of S$1,000
