CONCORDIA MERIT MASTER’S RESEARCH AND DOCTORATE SCHOLARSHIP  PROGRAMS

Concordia Merit Scholarships play a vital role in supporting graduate students by allowing them to focus on their research and studies. These scholarships, awarded based on academic excellence and research potential, provide financial support that relieves students from the burden of financial constraints.

ELIGIBILITY:

Citizenship: Unrestricted

Degree: Master’s research and Doctorate programs

Deadline: Admissions deadline

You must be a graduate student who has been admitted or is currently registered in a graduate research-based program at Concordia University.

For Master’s students, you must be within the first two years of your program. For Doctoral students, you must be within the first four years of your program.

As a prospective student seeking to benefit from the Concordia Merit Scholarship, you are advised to submit your admission application early, as the scholarship application is integrated into the admission process. Your admission application will serve as your application for the scholarship.

For current students enrolled in a program, it is advisable to reach out to your Graduate Program Director (GPD) to inquire about the application procedure for the Concordia Merit Scholarship.

The selection of recipients for the Concordia Merit Scholarship is the responsibility of the respective programs.

BENEFIT:

Valued at $5,000-$10,000 for one academic year.

SWISS GOVERNMENT PHD EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIPS

Application Opens: August 4, 2025; Deadline: 28 November, 2025

LOCATION: Switzerland

This scholarship is intended to support selected applicants in pursuing a PhD at a Swiss university or recognized research institute. Valid only for full-time research in Switzerland.

ELIGIBILITY:

Highly qualified researchers who have completed a master’s degree in any academic field

Priority will be given to individuals who have not previously studied or conducted research in Switzerland.

Master’s degree or equivalent completed by 31 July 2026 (for ETH Zurich: 30 June 2026).

Date of birth after 31 December 1990.

Detailed research plan with a timeline specifying key milestones and activities.

Applicants must have a letter of support from an academic supervisor in Switzerland (including a short CV).

If the applicant already resides in Switzerland, the date of entry must not be earlier than 1 August 2025 (submit a copy of the registration confirmation or residence permit).

Selection criteria: Academic profile, research competence, and motivation

Originality and methodological quality of the project

Quality of supervision and potential for future collaboration

Duration: 12 months, renewable twice for up to 36 months (subject to academic progress during the first 12 months).

Start date: 1 September 2026.

BENEFIT:

CHF 1,920 per month to cover basic living expenses for one person
