VICTORIA UNIVERSITY WELLINGTON DOCTORAL SCHOLARSHIP

To encourage postgraduate research Victoria University of Wellington offers scholarships to those about to begin their doctoral studies. These scholarships are awarded on academic merit and are open to New Zealand and international students in any discipline.

ELIGIBILITY:

These scholarships are open to graduates of any university within or outside of New Zealand who intend to enrol full time for a Doctorate (PhD) or who have commenced their doctoral study at Victoria University of Wellington. Please note: It is very important to refer to the website for regulations and further process requirements regarding an application for this scholarship.

The scholarships are offered to the top ranked candidates in any Doctoral admission and scholarship application round throughout the year. To be considered for a Wellington Doctoral Scholarship the applicant must have a strong academic record and excellent academic references, or:

demonstrated potential for high quality research; or

a record of publication in high quality journals commensurate with experience and education.

BENEFIT:

All offers of Wellington Doctoral Scholarships consist of a $29,500 per annum stipend plus domestic tuition fees for up to three years.

PML TREVOR PLATT FELLOWSHIP

LOCATION: Plymouth, England

Plymouth Marine Laboratory (PML) is pleased to announce the launch of the 2nd Trevor Platt Fellowship. 

ELIGIBILITY:

They welcome applications from outstanding early career researchers to undertake a research project at PML in any aspect of biological oceanography (fieldwork, earth observations, theoretical, ocean stewardship etc..), following on the legacy of Prof. Trevor Platt. 

Applicants will be required to submit their research proposal, CV, capacity building & impact statement and a supporting statement by the PML host, by emailing careers@pml.ac.uk. PML hosts can only support 1 application.

BENEFIT:

The fellowship will provide a bursary of £15,000 to include travel, visa, accommodation and living expenses. The aim is to allow a visit of between four to six months depending on distance, living costs and science activity.
