2026 CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR THE INTERMATHS ERASMUS MUNDUS JOINT MASTER’S SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME

Application Deadline: February 25, 2026, 1 pm CET

LOCATION: Germany

The 2026 call for applications for the InterMaths Erasmus Mundus Joint Master is open. The 2-year Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Interdisciplinary Mathematics begins in September. EMJM scholarships are offered to the most talented candidates of any nationality who will be full-time enrolled in the InterMaths EMJM programme.

ELIGIBILITY:

The application is open to students of any nationality. However, before deciding on your eligibility, they need to look through all the required documents. Therefore, if you want to be taken into consideration for their next intake, first check if you meet the minimum academic requirements, then fill in our online application form to submit all the required documents. Your application will then be evaluated along with all the others received, and a selection list will be published on this page—see below for details.

Academic Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or other similar fields with a very strong mathematical background (BS, BSc, SB, etc. or a degree at the same level of an academic Bachelor’s Degree, e.g. its equivalent from a college, university, or technical school of high standing, or 180 ECTS credits in the European system)

Language requirements: All applicants are required to prove an adequate level of English (CEFR B2 level, at least).

Applicants who have conducted their university or secondary-school studies in an English-speaking institution for one or more years will only have to verify that English is the medium of instruction in such institutions (for this purpose, you will find a dedicated section in the application form—no certificate submission is required).

You won’t be charged any fee to take part in the application process.

To apply for a scholarship, you won’t need to submit a separate application

By submitting your application before the set deadline for scholarships (see below), your application will automatically be considered for an EMJM scholarship, too.

filling outFor practical reasons, by filling our application form, you are applying for all three programmes managed by our Network:

Erasmus Mundus Joint Master “InterMaths—Interdisciplinary Mathematics”; European Joint MSc “Mathmods—Mathematical Modelling in Engineering ”; International MSc “RealMaths—Mathematics for Real World Applications”.

To this purpose, in the application form you will be asked to express your level of interest in each of the three programs. After the evaluation, a unique ranking will be generated with the information on the program(s) for which you have obtained the minimum score for admission.

BENEFIT:

Students who are awarded an EMJM scholarship won’t have to pay any participation costs.

Tuition, registration and any other mandatory costs related to their participation in the course are fully waived. However, the student has to cover accommodation, living, travelling, equipment, and any other personal expenses
