SOAS UNIVERSITY OF LONDON HYUNDAI MOTOR GROUP SCHOLARSHIP

Hyundai Motor Group is offering five scholarships intended to nurture talent from Africa at SOAS University of London. These scholarships aim to cultivate experts for sustainable development in Africa and will continue to establish long-term collaboration models for the next generation of Africa. The scholarships are designed to create meaningful change and empower students to find solutions to global challenges.

ELIGIBILITY:

Any full-time (1 year) master’s degree programme and any full-time research degree programme beginning in the 2026/27 academic year

Applicants to courses within the College of Development Studies, Economics and Finance, and College of Law, Anthropology and Politics are particularly encouraged to apply.

This scholarship is open to African nationals who are ordinarily resident in Africa.

This scholarship is open to international fee-paying applicants only.

New admissions only (programmes starting in 2026/27).

Applicants for the MA scholarship must possess or expect to be awarded an international equivalent to a first-class honours degree from a UK university. Applicants with a non-UK degree must be in the top rank as evidenced by references and transcripts. Applicants with a 2:1 may also apply but will not be given preference.

Applicants for the MPhil/PhD scholarship must possess or expect to be awarded an international equivalent to a master’s degree with distinction from a UK university. Applicants with a non-UK master’s degree must be in the top rank as evidenced by references and transcripts. Applicants with merit may also apply but will not be given preference.

Scholarship applicants must have applied to SOAS but are not required to have received an offer of admission by the scholarship deadline. An unconditional offer will need to have been received by the time the selection panel meets to discuss scholarship applications.

Applicants must meet the English language condition of their offer of admission to study at SOAS, if applicable. If your offer is conditional on English, please arrange your English test and ensure you meet the English requirements as soon as possible.

Please note that this scholarship does not cover funding for pre-sessional courses.

BENEFIT:

Master’s award: £27,730.

PhD award: tuition fees and stipend of up to £22,780

UAL INTERNATIONAL POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS

Application Deadline: Friday 27 March 2026 (Round 1)

LOCATION: United Kingdom

This scholarship provides a tuition fee waiver for a full-time or part-time taught master’s course at 1 of UAL’s Colleges and Institutes. Up to 288 scholarships are available for the 26/27 academic year.

ELIGIBILITY:

Criteria 1: You must hold an offer to study a full-time or part-time taught master’s course at one of UAL’s Colleges and Institutes starting in 2026/27.

Your course must offer either a Grad Dip, M ARCH, MA, MFA, MBA, MRes or MSc qualification and be offered at one of UAL’s Colleges or Institutes. Courses run by UAL Online are not eligible for this scholarship.

You are not eligible to apply if you already hold a UK postgraduate taught qualification (or one at an equivalent level) from studies undertaken in the UK.

Criteria 2: You need to qualify for the Overseas category of tuition fee status. Read more about Postgraduate Tuition Fees.

Criteria 3: You have achieved, or are predicted to achieve, an upper second-class honours degree or above at undergraduate level. Recognised equivalent qualifications are also accepted. To check your eligibility, read the International Academic Qualifications Equivalency (PDF 1,015 KB).

You will need to provide your transcripts as proof of your qualification.

If you have not yet received your results, you will need to provide evidence of your predicted grade as part of your application. When you receive your results, you will need to provide further evidence that you have achieved your predicted grade to be granted the award.

Criteria 4: You must provide a personal statement as part of your scholarship application that responds to the following questions (maximum 350 words per question):

Please tell us about how your achievements and experience gained both within and outside of school/university demonstrate your suitability for this award.

Please tell us how you intend to use the qualification you will be studying to support your future plans.

What contribution do you intend to make to university life whilst studying? How do you feel being part of the UAL community will help you in achieving your career aspirations?

You will need to hold an offer for your postgraduate course before applying for this scholarship.
