WAGENINGEN UNIVERSITY EXCELLENCE PROGRAMME SCHOLARSHIPS FOR INTERNATIONAL PHD STUDENTS

LOCATION: The Netherlands

With the Excellence Programme, Wageningen University aims to attract excellent students who have a prospect of doing a PhD after their MSc graduation in Wageningen or elsewhere.

ELIGIBILITY:

International MSc students from outside the European Economic Area (including Switzerland) starting an MSc programme in September 2025 who have unconditional admission.

You are citizen of a country outside the European Economic Area (and Switzerland)

You have applied for one of the MSc programmes at Wageningen University & Research before the given deadline. Please see: How can I apply for the master’s programme?

You are unconditionally admitted to this MSc programme

You have a high GPA of 80% or higher. A First Class honours BSc graduation or equivalent is required.

BENEFIT:

A tuition fee waiver for the duration of the programme (24 months)

A budget for one seminar in Europe (travel, stay, registration fee)

WAGENINGEN UNIVERSITY AFRICA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME

The Africa Scholarship Programme (ASP) offers talented and motivated students from Africa the unique opportunity to pursue a Master’s degree at Wageningen University and to support capacity building in Africa.

ELIGIBILITY:

You are a citizen of an African country.

You have applied for one of the master’s programmes of Wageningen University & Research before the given deadline. Please see: How can I apply for the master’s programme?

You are unconditionally admitted to this MSc programme.

You are an excellent student with a First-class honours degree and a GPA of 80% or higher in a bachelor’s degree program.

Preference is given to students who have not obtained a master’s degree
yet.

Only if you meet all of the above-mentioned requirements can you be eligible for an invitation to the Africa Scholarship Programme selection procedure.
