FULLY FUNDED NOTTINGHAM TRENT UNIVERSITY FULLY FUNDED PHD STUDENTSHIPS

Their research is focused into three key challenge areas where they believe they can create and deliver meaningful and lasting change for society. They’re now actively seeking talented PhD candidates for fully-funded research projects in these areas.

ELIGIBILITY:

To be eligible to be considered for a 2025 Strategic Research Theme Studentship, you must meet the following requirements:

You must be available to begin study from 1 October 2025.

You must not be a current doctoral level candidate at Nottingham Trent University or already hold a PhD or other doctoral degree.

You can only submit one application relating to one project from the list of available 2025 Strategic Research Theme Studentships. If you submit more than one application none of your applications will be considered.

You must submit a full and complete application (including having submitted all required supporting documents) by 14 February 2025. Any incomplete applications, or applications received after the deadline will not be considered.

BENEFIT:

Fully-funded PhD studentships will:

cover the full cost of your PhD fees

fund the research project, including field or lab work

provide a tax-free stipend for your living expenses.

You’ll also be able to access support to present your work at at least one conference. All of our studentships are open to both UK and international students:

Living stipend of £19,237 per year (UKRI rate).

UNIVERSITY OF NOTTINGHAM DEVELOPING SOLUTIONS MASTERS SCHOLARSHIP

Developing Solutions is our flagship master’s scholarship, founded in 2001, for students from African, South Asian, and other selected Commonwealth countries. This scholarship programme is designed for international students who want to make a difference to the development of key economic, environmental, structural, social, or political structures in their home country.

ELIGIBILITY:

To apply for this scholarship, you must:

be domiciled in Africa, India or one of the selected Commonwealth countries listed below

be classed as an overseas student for fee purposes

hold an offer to start a full-time masters (including MRes) for 2025/26 at the University of Nottingham UK, studying in the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Faculty of Science or Faculty of Social Sciences

Africa (all nations), Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Bangladesh, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Brunei, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Falkland Islands, Fiji, Gibraltar, Grenada, Guyana, India, Jamaica, Kiribati, Malaysia, Maldives, Montserrat, Nauru, Nepal, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Pitcairn Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, St Helena, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Tristan da Cunha, Turks and Caicos Islands, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.

You must apply for and receive an offer to study a full-time masters (including MRes) at the University of Nottingham for 2025/26 before applying for this scholarship. Search for courses and find out how to apply.
