ASPIRE CORONATION TRUST FUND GRANT (ACT)

LOCATION: Nigeria

The call for application opens 23rd October 2023 and closes 10th November 2023 11:59 pm (WAT). Successful applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal with a detailed budget for the grants. Proposals must indicate a strong monitoring and evaluation plan as well as show a robust sustainability plan. After a rigorous review by independent consultants, and upon final selection of the proposals, organizations will be formally notified of the next steps. This will be followed by Interviews and physical visits.

ELIGIBILITY:

Organizations applying for ACT grant must meet the following criteria:

Work within the ACT Foundation’s focus areas of Health, Entrepreneurship, Leadership, and Environment.

Be registered with the appropriate legal entity within their respective (African) countries for not less than two years (24 months).

Be legally registered as a non-profit organization (GTE/LTD). However, if applying as a social enterprise, the Foundation will only fund initiatives that are not for profit.

Show a strong governance structure. Details of the board of directors should reflect in the company’s registration documents. If not, please update.

Show evidence of other sources of funding.

Have a minimum staff strength of 3 part-time/full-time paid Individuals.

Be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the project, i.e. not acting as an intermediary.

Program/Initiative must be implemented within Africa.

UNITED NATIONS YOUTH CHAMPIONS FOR DISARMAMENT TRAINING PROGRAMME (2ND EDITION)

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has made a major push to engage and empower young people, recognizing their participation as essential for identifying new solutions that will secure the breakthroughs that our world urgently needs. To that end, the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs (UNODA), with generous financial support from the Government of Germany, are calling on young people to apply for the 2nd edition of the United Nations Youth Champions for Disarmament Training Programme – an innovative learning programme aimed at empowering youth to work for disarmament in their communities. ELIGIBILITY:

Are you between 18 and 24 years old?

Are you interested in taking part in an innovative learning programme to improve your ability to advocate for peace, disarmament, non-proliferation, and arms control in your community?

Do you want the opportunity to participate in a face-to-face regional workshop, as well as travel to the United Nations Headquarters in New York?

BENEFIT:

15 young people will be selected to participate in the 2nd edition of the training programme, which will introduce a regional focus. 

The selected 15 United Nations Youth Champions for Disarmament will receive training in the general principles of disarmament, non-proliferation, and arms control and its linkages to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. After completion of the introductory courses, regular exchanges with experts from think tanks, civil society organizations and the diplomatic field will be facilitated by UNODA, followed by regional workshops and youth forums. At the end of the training, the 15 Youth Champions will be invited to present their perspectives at an event at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

The United Nations Youth Champions for Disarmament Training Programme is funded through generous financial support from the Government of Germany.
