The 2024 John Hopkins Healthcare Design competition is open to any student-led team that has designed a health related solutions. All countries, all academic field are encouraged to apply.

ELIGIBILITY:

Project must be focused on a healthcare application in either of the 4 tracks: Competition Tracks:

Designs of Solutions for Advanced Health Systems

Global Health/ Humanitarian Design

Healthcare Apps/ Digital Health

Post-Surgical Infection Management

Designs of Solutions for Advanced Health Systems

Global Health/ Humanitarian Design

Healthcare Apps/ Digital Health

Post-Surgical Infection Management

Project must have been started after January 1st, 2022

Project must be driven by full-time students

Postdoc research projects are ineligible.

Projects that have utilized significant funding (>$100K) are ineligible.

Projects that are not run by full-time students are ineligible. For example, projects run by startup companies or faculty are ineligible.

Eligible full-time students include those working towards undergraduate, masters, doctoral, and professional degrees (MBA, MD, etc.).

Project teams should comprise of more than one full-time student.

Applicants can submit multiple unique projects

COMMISSION FOR DEVELOPING COUNTRIES ABEL VISITING SCHOLAR PROGRAM

LOCATION: Germany

The Abel Visiting Scholar Program is intended for mathematicians professionally based in developing countries to visit an international research collaborator for a period of one month. The program is designed for post doctoral mathematicians in the early stages of their professional careers. It is designed to offer the opportunity for a ‘research sabbatical,’ a necessary complement to teaching and other academic duties for mathematicians desiring to also sustain a viable research program.

ELIGIBILITY:

Applicants must

hold at the time of application a PhD in Mathematics,

be based in a developing country at the time of application (As defined by IMU)

hold a position in a university/ research institution

be in the early stages of their professional careers, more precisely: the applicants  should

not yet be of full professorial rank but have a working contract in a university/ college

be under 35 years of age at the day of the application deadline.

BENEFIT:

The Abel Visiting Scholar Program is fully funded by the Abel Prize in mathematics and is administered by the Commission for Developing Countries of the International Mathematical Union.

Usually up to 3 Grants are available per year.
