JAMES COOK UNIVERSITY AUSTRALIA HDR SCHOLARSHIPS FOR INTERNATIONAL CANDIDATES

The James Cook University, Australia invites interested and eligible international candidates to apply for 2025 HDR scholarships for International Candidates. ELIGIBILITY:

To be eligible for postgraduate research scholarship at JCU, an applicant must meet each of the following requirements:

You must be an International Students (excluding  JCUS based)

Be undertaking a Masters by Research or Research Doctoral degree whilst in receipt of a scholarship;

Be enrolled as a full-time internal student upon commencement of the Scholarship, or in exceptional circumstances, be granted approval by the University for a part-time and/or external Scholarship;

Have their enrolment into the proposed research degree program accepted by the University before being ranked for an offer of a Scholarship. This means that if you are currently located offshore or interstate from your preferred JCU campus:

Your project must be able to be commenced, and potentially completed from your current location due to unpredictability of travel bans;

Your advisory panel have indicated agreement to supervise the project remotely

You have a fully activated Australian bank account (requires applicant to have presented in person in an Australian bank branch)

Are not receiving another equivalent Scholarship or salary to undertake the proposed program (where “equivalent” may mean more than seventy-five per cent of the base stipend).

You must be able to meet the conditions of your offer for candidature.

You must be able to meet the requirements of the Department of Immigration and Border Protection if you are not an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or an Australian Permanent Resident.

BENEFIT:

International Research Training Scholarship: Living allowance stipend $33,500pa, overseas health cover, tuition fees.

Post Graduate Reserach Scholarship: Living allowance stipend $33,500pa, tuition fees.

AIMS @ JCU Scholarship: Living allowance stipend $33,500pa + $5,000pa as living allowance stipend or project expenses, tuition fees.

WTO YOUNG TRADE LEADERS PROGRAMME

LOCATION: Switzerland

The WTO is seeking applications for its Young Trade Leaders programme, an initiative aimed at fostering a better understanding of the WTO’s work and international trade among young people and creating a network of Young Trade Leaders around the world.

ELIGIBILITY:

People between the ages of 18 and 30 with a strong interest in international trade are encouraged to apply.

Candidates selected to be “Young Trade Leaders” will be exceptional young people who demonstrate a clear understanding of how trade can be of benefit to people and planet. They will bring new perspectives and ideas about the role of trade and the WTO while also having the opportunity to learn about the organization’s work and play a role in advancing its mission.

Young Trade Leaders will be selected for one year. For more details on the 2024 programme and information on how to apply, consult the information note.

The deadline for applications is 5 July 2024 (23.59 CET).

Short-listed candidates will be invited to take part in an interview in July.

BENEFIT:

Selected leaders will have the opportunity to take advantage of training courses organized by the WTO, to benefit from WTO Secretariat advice and mentoring, and to receive support when organizing WTO-related activities in their home countries.

They will not receive remuneration but they will be invited to travel to Geneva to actively participate in the 2024 WTO Public Forum in September.
