AMERICAN UNIVERSITY IN CAIRO (AUC) AFRICAN GRADUATE FELLOWSHIPS

The African Graduate Fellowship is a competitive fellowship program for bright, highly motivated African students interested in pursuing a master’s degree at The American University in Cairo (AUC). Each year, fellowships are offered to nationals of African countries (not including Egyptians) for full-time study; nine credits or as required by the program in any of the graduate programs offered at the AUC.

ELIGIBILITY:

Non-Egyptian African nationals

African nationals with dual non-African nationality are not eligible

Open to all disciplines of graduate studies

For new graduate degree-seeking students, admission to one of the graduate programs in AUC, satisfying AUC graduate admissions requirements

Submit an International TOEFL iBT exam score or academic IELTS exam score as per the cut-off scores for AUC graduate admissions

For continuing students, to retain the fellowship, the recipient must maintain a GPA of 3.2

Financial need

Duration: The fellowship is awarded for a maximum duration of five semesters and one intervening summer session, with a review every semester for satisfactory academic performance. For the Counseling Psychology graduate program, the duration may be extended to a maximum of seven semesters.

UNIVERSITY OF EDINBURGH INTRACELLULAR CAPILLARITY OF BIOMOLECULAR CONDENSATES PHD SCHOLARSHIP

LOCATION: United Kingdom

The overall aim of this PhD project is to identify and develop governing principles of wetting and interfacial forces of biomolecular condensates in biological cells, which we broadly term as intracellular capillarity.

ELIGIBILITY:

Depending on the interests of the applicant, the project could be mainly analytical, computational or could combine numerics with analytical work. The project will also involve close collaborations with their experimental partners both in the UK and internationally.

Minimum entry qualification – an Honours degree at 2:1 or above (or International equivalent) in a relevant science or engineering discipline, possibly supported by an MSc Degree. Further information on English language requirements for EU/Overseas applicants.
