Application Deadline: January 15, 2026
LOCATION: USA
Students who aren’t residents of Virginia pay higher tuition because VCU is a public institution and a portion of the cost to Virginia students is subsidized by the state. These scholarships are meant to acknowledge your strong academic achievements and to offset the higher tuition and fees charged to non-Virginia students. International students are considered out-of-state students for tuition purposes.
ELIGIBILITY:
To be considered, you must:
Have a minimum 3.0 high school GPA to qualify for at least a $10,000 scholarship
Have a minimum 3.3 high school GPA to qualify for at least a $12,000 scholarship
Not be a Virginia resident (out-of-state or international)
Apply to a VCU degree-seeking program as a first-year student
Out-of-state, first-year applicants are encouraged to submit VCU’s online electronic application by Jan. 15 to be considered.
Your residency/domiciliary classification (whether you are considered a resident of Virginia or not) determines whether you pay the in-state or out-of-state tuition rate. Eligibility for in-state tuition is governed by the Code of Virginia. Residency/domiciliary classification is determined at the time of admission to VCU.
BENEFIT:
You may qualify for a four-year scholarship of a minimum of $10,000.
