UNIVERSITY FINANCIAL AID – DIRITTO ALLO STUDIO UNIVERSITARIO (DSU) MERIT-BASED SCHOLARSHIPS

Every year Politecnico di Milano offers a number of merit-based scholarships to the most talented international candidates admitted to a Master of Science program in the 1st or 2nd semester. Students obtaining a scholarship will have to pay only a non-refundable administrative fee of about €170. 

ELIGIBILITY:

Scholarships are awarded in different periods, involving specific groups of applicants to MSc programmes:

Applicants in the Engineering area: If not awarded a scholarship in one call, candidates can present their application in the next one.

Architecture and Design area: If not awarded a scholarship in the first call, candidates can present their application in the second call. They will not be allowed to present their application for the third call.

BENEFIT:

All scholarships include a full tuition-fee waiver; some of them will also provide an additional gross allowance of up to €10,000/year.

STANFORD UNIVERSITY 2026-27 JAPAN PROGRAM POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP

The Japan Program Postdoctoral Fellowship is now accepting applications for the 2026-2027 fellowship cyle. All applications are due December 1, 2025. The Japan Program is excited to offer a postdoctoral fellowship position to junior scholars for research and writing on contemporary Japan. The fellowship supports research in a broad range of disciplines including political science, economics, sociology, law, policy studies, and international relations.

ELIGIBILITY:

Applicants must be recent PhDs and cannot be more than three years past the awarding of their doctoral degree when the fellowship starts.

Must have dissertation submission and approval for conferral by June 30, 2026.

Certification of degree completion and conferral must be submitted no later than August 31, 2026.

BENEFIT:

The postdoctoral fellowship is a 10-month appointment starting October 1 with a salary commensurate with Stanford policy, based on the annual rate of $80,000 (to be prorated based on the 10-month appointment), plus up to $3,000 for research expenses.
