Thanks to the support of the worldwide community of Antonians, other generous funders, and partners, St. Anthony’s College can support students from around the world to come to St. Antony’s. The total value of the scholarships on offer for 2026/27 is around £1 million.

ELIGIBILITY:

Academic Futures Scholarships at St Antony’s: St Antony’s has partnered with the Academic Futures scholarship programme to offer a fully funded Academic Futures Scholarship from any of the Academic Futures scholarship programmes. Academic Futures is a series of scholarship programmes that aim to address under-representation and help improve equality, diversity and inclusion in our graduate student body. Applications are made as part of the University application process. Please see the University’s Academic Futures website for further details of how to apply.

St Antony’s DAC AfOx Scholarships: St Antony’s has partnered with the AfOx scholarship programme to offer two fully funded AfOx Scholarships. The scholarship is open to an incoming graduate student applying for any one-year Masters course that St Antony’s accepts who is from an African country that receives official development assistance from the OECD (a full list of countries eligible for the DAC AfOx Scholarships can be found here) and has completed their undergraduate degree at an African university. Eligible students will be automatically considered for this scholarship. More details about the AfOx selection process are on the AfOx website here.

St Antony’s Angelines DAC ODID Scholarship: St Antony’s College offers a full scholarship for an incoming graduate student from Latin America wishing to study for a degree offered by the Oxford Department of International Development (ODID) in the academic year 2027/28.

The Angelines DAC ODID Scholarship is a joint initiative by St. Antony’s and ODID and came from Professor Valpy FitzGerald, who has been a central figure in academic life at both the College and Department since 1992. The scholarship is named after his wife, Angelines, who has been struggling with Alzheimer’s Disease. A committee at ODID will review the applications and award the St. Antony’s Angelines DAC ODID Scholarship on academic merit.

St Antony’s ODID DAC Scholarship: St Antony’s College offers a full scholarship for an incoming graduate student from a country that receives official development assistance from the OECD (a full list of countries eligible for the ODID DAC Scholarship can be found here) and has completed their undergraduate degree in their home country to study for a degree offered by the Oxford Department of International Development (ODID) in the academic year 2027/28.

St Antony’s DAC African Economics Scholarship: The scholarship is open to an incoming graduate student applying for MPhil Economics who is from an African country that receives official development assistance from the OECD (a full list of countries eligible for the DAC African Economics Scholarship can be found here) and has completed their undergraduate degree at an African university. Eligible students will be automatically considered for this scholarship. This scholarship will next be awarded in the academic year 2026/27.

St. Antony’s Warden’s Clarendon Scholarship: St Antony’s Warden’s Fund has partnered with the Clarendon Fund to offer a fully funded Clarendon scholarship in any course that is accepted by the college. Candidates for this scholarship are selected through the Clarendon Scholarship selection process, which does not require a separate application to College.

St Antony’s DAC Clarendon Scholarship: St Antony’s DAC Fund has partnered with the Clarendon Fund to offer a fully funded Clarendon scholarship in any course that is accepted by the college. Candidates for this scholarship are selected through the Clarendon Scholarship selection process, which does not require a separate application to College. The scholarship is open to an incoming graduate student applying from a country that receives official development assistance from the OECD (a full list of countries eligible for the DAC Clarendon Scholarship can be found here) and has completed their undergraduate degree at an African university. Eligible students will be automatically considered for this scholarship.

St Antony’s Warden’s UKRI Scholarship: St Antony’s Warden’s Fund has provided funding to partner with the UKRI to offer a fully funded UKRI scholarship in any Social Science course that is accepted by the college. Candidates for this scholarship are selected through the UKRI Scholarship selection process, which does not require a separate application to College.

UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR NONRESIDENTS

The University of South Carolina offers a generous array of scholarships for non-S.C. resident freshmen, which are awarded through the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. The scholarship programs are the Stamps Scholars Award, the McNair Scholars Award, and the Horseshoe Scholars Award.

ELIGIBILITY:

The Stamps, McNair and Horseshoe Scholars Awards are the most prestigious awards offered by the university to nonresident students. Forty-five students with strong academic records and leadership qualities are offered a Top Scholar award each year. Five will be named Stamps Scholars, 20 will be named McNair Scholars, and up to 20 will be named Horseshoe Scholars. Candidates for these awards will be invited to participate in a mandatory interview and an in-person Top Scholar Weekend. Last year, nonresident Top Scholars had an average SAT score of 1550 (ACT score of 35) and an average high school GPA of 4.8 and were in the top 1% of their high school class, on average. Recipients qualify for the in-state tuition rate.

Please note: To apply for these awards, you must submit both a general university application and a South Carolina Honors College application to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. The deadline for the Honors College application is Nov. 15.

When you apply for admission, you are automatically considered for merit scholarships. These scholarships are only awarded to first-time freshmen entering the fall semester. Only one Admissions Merit Award per individual is allowed for nonresidents, with the exception of the Provost Scholars Award, which can be added to any other award listed in this section.

Stamps Scholars annual value: approximately $23,610 + tuition reduction to in-state rate + $15,000 enrichment fund
Four-year value: approximately $225,000

McNair Scholars annual value: $22,000 + tuition reduction to in-state rate + $12,000 enrichment fund

Horseshoe Scholars annual value: $11,000 + tuition reduction to in-state rate
Four-year value: more than $142,000
