NLNG  UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP AWARD FOR NIGERIAN STUDENTS

In keeping with its commitment to fostering education and developing human capital, NLNG invites applications from eligible first-year undergraduates (2025/2026 academic year) for the 2025 NLNG Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme (UGSS). The UGSS is aimed at supporting exceptional students at Nigerian universities to excel academically and contribute to the advancement of the nation.

ELIGIBILITY:

Applicants must meet the following requirements: 

Be a citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and currently residing in the country. 

Be a full-time first-year undergraduate student in the 2025/2026 academic session at a federal or state-owned university in Nigeria. 

Have obtained a minimum of five O’Level credits, including Mathematics and English, in one sitting (WASC, SSCE, or NECO). 

Have scored a minimum of 200 in the JAMB Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). 

Not more than 25 years at the time of application. 

Must not be a beneficiary of any other scholarship, bursary, or grant from any organisation. 

Must not be a spouse, child, ward, or direct relation of an NLNG staff.

Upload a recent passport photo (no glasses) and copies of WAEC/NECO/SSCE and JAMB UTME results, JAMB Admission Letter, LGA Identification, and Birth Certificate.

HDR (PHD) SCHOLARSHIP – ION-ATOM COLLISION DATA FOR FUSION ENERGY, HADRON THERAPY AND ASTROPHYSICS AT CURTIN UNIVERSITY

LOCATION: Australia

This scholarship is funded by an ARC Discovery Project in conjunction with support from Curtin University. The purpose of the scholarship is to support a PhD student to carry out research in quantum collision theory. Currently, there is an urgent demand for accurate data on ion-beam collisions with atomic and molecular targets for the development and maintenance of fusion reactors, treatment planning in hadron therapy, and modelling astrophysical phenomena.

Eligible courses: Any HDR student wishing to obtain a PhD in the field of physics.

The successful candidate must meet the minimum academic entry requirement for admission into the Doctor of Philosophy program https://research.curtin.edu.au/postgraduate/ including the English proficiency levels set by Curtin University (e.g., IELTS, Overall 6.5, Speaking 6.0, Writing 6.0, Reading 6.0 and Listening 6.0). Candidates should have a master’s or bachelor’s (Honors) degree in physics. Students with previous research experience and publications in physics or quantum chemistry are encouraged to apply.

Recipients must complete their milestone 1 within 6 months of enrollment and remain enrolled on a full-time basis for the duration of the scholarship.
