To celebrate 200 years of innovation and the commitment to supporting life-changing breakthroughs in research, the University of Manchester is proud to announce the Faculty of Science and Engineering Bicentenary PhD Studentships for postgraduate researchers. Commencing in September 2026, the studentship will provide more than 45 fully funded PhD scholarships for projects across major research themes within the Faculty:

Digital and AI

Environment and climate change

Health inequalities

Creative industries

ELIGIBILITY:

In order to be considered for this scholarship, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Have submitted an application by the deadline for a PhD starting in September 2026.

Hold (or expect to achieve) a First Class or 2:1 UK honours degree (or international equivalent).

Ideally hold a master’s-level qualification at merit or distinction (or international equivalent).

Be able to demonstrate potential for academic research. This may include contributions to publications/articles, promoting their research to a wider audience, and prizes for research or project work.

We will only consider candidates who hold a formal offer for a place on one of our PhD programmes.

KING MONGKUT’S UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY NORTH BANGKOK DIRECT ADMISSION AND TUITION-WAIVED SCHOLARSHIPS FOR OUTSTANDING STUDENTS

The KMUTT Undergraduate Scholarship is offered to outstanding international students as an opportunity to study at the King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB) in Thailand.

All English and International programs are admitted students from the TCAS system.

Outstanding students with the following criteria can apply for admission (see admission requirements).

Eligible applicants are those who fulfill the following admission requirements:

Holds a high school diploma or certificate (or its equivalent)

Is proficient in English.

Applicants must achieve the prescribed minimum score in any one of the following tests:

Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT): not less than 1200

 GSAT: not less than 1200

A Level (Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry): not less than B 

IB Diploma Course Result, in which scores are not less than Grade 4 in at least 5 subjects and must include Mathematics and Physics in those 5 subjects. 

General Certificate of Education (GCE)—Advanced (A) level, for which scores are not less than C in at least 5 subjects and must include Mathematics and Physics in those 5 subjects.

General Educational Development (GED): A score not less than 145 in each subject. Score of  Math and science not lower than 165 or use the criteria in the system.

Myanmar Matriculation examination: Physics, Chemistry, English, and Mathematics not lower than 75/100.  Myanmar language and Biology not lower than 70/100. And contain at least 3 Distinction subjects. 

Applicants must achieve the prescribed minimum score in one of the English Language Qualifications

Students who are native speakers are not required to take the English proficiency test. 

Note: This aforementioned standardized English Proficiency score is required for the minimum requirement to apply for the program. The decision from the program’s committee is considered final.
