VIDEOEX EXPERIMENTAL FILM & VIDEO FESTIVAL CALL FOR ENTRIES 2026, ZÜRICH

Videoex invites you to submit your digital or analog work for the International & Swiss competition 2026. Videoex is Switzerland’s largest festival dedicated to experimental film and video. Over the course of ten days, Videoex shows films and videos beyond conventional narrative cinema: experimental, visually surprising, conceptually unexpected, or controversially political films and videos on the threshold between visual art and film.

ELIGIBILITY:

They are experimental, innovative, and progressive cinematic works and moving image works that explore the possibilities of film as a medium, expanding the idea of film and cinema.

Videoex invites you to submit your digital or analog work for the International & Swiss competition 2026.

They admit:

Non-Fiction

Moving Image

Documentary

Essay Film

Animated Film

The festival promotes experimental video and film works.

Only works produced after October 1st, 2024, will be accepted.

Participants may submit a maximum of three (3) works.

They are happy to still accept Super8/8mm, 16mm and 35mm film as screening formats (for a complete list, please see full rules below)

Each entry must be accompanied by a short synopsis in German, French, Italian, or English.

To take part in the competition, participants must submit a preview copy of their work. Accepted preview formats: Digital files (using this upload platform), DVD (PAL/NTSC), Blu-ray Disc

BENEFIT:

VIDEOEX 2026 will include an international and a Swiss competition. The total price amount is CHF 1500.

UBC OKANAGAN GLOBAL ELEVATION AWARD 

LOCATION: Canada

The award is designed to reward those international undergraduate students who wish to study at UBC Okanagan and contribute to the growth of UBC’s international student community at this campus. 

ELIGIBILITY:

To be considered for the UBC Okanagan Global Elevation Award, you must be a new international student who enrolls at UBC Okanagan. 

All new international undergraduate students who enroll at UBC Okanagan will receive this award.  It is renewable for an additional 3 years—up to 4 years or degree completion, whichever is sooner.  The award is applied as a credit toward tuition fees. 

To apply, if you are accepted to and enroll at UBC Okanagan, this award will automatically be applied as a credit on your student account after you have accepted UBC’s offer of admission.  

BENEFIT:

The UBC Okanagan Global Elevation Award is an $8,000 award applied to international students’ tuition at UBC Okanagan. The credit will be paid in two equal installments of $4,000 in Winter Term 1 and Winter Term 2.
