KING’S COLLEGE LONDON CHEVENING SCHOLARSHIPS

Application Deadline: 06 October 2026 11:00

LOCATION: England

Chevening scholarships are open to applicants from over 160 countries and territories around the world looking to study for an eligible one-year taught master’s degree at a UK institution.

Whilst there is no ‘typical’ Chevening Scholar, they are looking for the kind of people who have the passion, ideas, and influence to provide the solutions and leadership needed to create a better future.

ELIGIBILITY:

To be eligible for a Chevening scholarship, applicants must:

Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country or territory.

If applying for an award from an ODA-eligible country, be a resident of an ODA-eligible country. This does not have to be the country of citizenship, but all applicants must show a clear intention to support their country of award.

If you live in a European overseas territory, you may apply through the relevant Chevening award scheme for the European country of which you are a citizen.

Commit to returning to your home country (country of award) for at least two years after your scholarship ends.

Have at least two years’ work experience, acquired after completing your undergraduate degree, equivalent to 2,800 hours.

Hold an undergraduate degree that qualifies you for a UK master’s programme. You must have finished your undergraduate studies at least two years before our application deadline, even if you have not yet received your certificate. However, you will need to have your certificate by the time of your interview.

Apply to three different and eligible  UK university courses. You must have received an unconditional offer from at least one of these course choices by the deadline listed on the application timeline.

They encourage you to apply if you meet Chevening’s eligibility criteria and other requirements. Your gender, age (there is no upper age limit), sexual orientation, religion, marriage or parenthood status, caste, class, or other attributes do not matter. What matters is your ability to submit a strong application that demonstrates you are capable of excelling on an intense master’s course in the UK and that you have a clear vision for your future—and maybe even that of your sector or your country.

Learn more about Chevening’s eligibility and work experience requirements to assess your own eligibility.

Applications are made direct to Chevening.

The process of selecting Chevening Scholars takes a minimum of eight months from the application deadline to when applicants are conditionally selected for an award.

Timeline for the next competition:

Applications open: 4 August 2026 at 11:00 (UTC)
