UN GLOBAL CLIMATE ACTION AWARDS.  

Application Deadline: midnight Central European Time on October 15, 2023.

The Awards seek to highlight the innovative climate action that young people around the world are undertaking to ensure their communities are more sustainable, resilient, and equitable places to live.  Two youth awards will be selected: 

A youth award for energy transition, and  

A youth award for nature and eco-system based climate action. 

ELIGIBILITY:

If you or a group of young people are under 35 years old and are implementing a project, initiative, program or other activity that addresses climate change mitigation or adaptation with a focus on one of the two areas outlined below, we would like to hear from you. 

Youth award on energy transition: The youth energy award will recognize innovative work on energy transition and equity by an individual youth or group of young people. 

Youth award on nature and eco-system based climate action: This award will recognize nature and eco-system based activities to address climate adaption and/or mitigation, as well as issues of equity conducted by an individual youth or group of young people in indigenous and/or local communities. 

BENEFIT:

Award winners will therefore receive:  

UN Climate Change Award certificate presented at a special awards event at COP28 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE)  

Travel, daily allowance, to participate in COP28 UN Climate Change Conference in the UAE 

Opportunities to network and present work to policymakers during the UN Climate Change Conference.

EUTOPIA-SIF POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME FOR PHD STUDENTS

The EUTOPIA European University Alliance is pleased to announce the opening of 16 post-doctoral fellowships under the EUTOPIA Science and Innovation Fellowships Programme (EUTOPIA-SIF). Positions will start in September 2024 at EUTOPIA-SIF partner universities.

ELIGIBILITY:

Recognised Researchers (stage 2 in the EURAXESS definition), PhD holders or equivalent, of any nationality complying with the MSCA-COFUND mobility rule. No seniority condition applies; however, candidates cannot hold a permanent position at the start of the fellowship.

Although The EUTOPIA Alliance was expanded in late 2022 to encompass ten regionally and nationally distinct European universities, the EUTOPIA-SIF programme runs on a separate grant. Only the following six universities are eligible to host or co-host SIF fellows: Vrije Universiteit BrusselCY Cergy Paris UniversityUniversity of GothenburgUniversity of LjubljanaPompeu Fabra University-BarcelonaThe University of Warwick.

BENEFIT:

MSCA COFUND EUTOPIA-SIF is a highly competitive programme offering very attractive conditions to young researchers for research excellence and career development:

2-year employment contract as a Marie Sklodowska-Curie COFUND fellow at one of the EUTOPIA universities, with a monthly average gross salary of 4 349 € and a supplementary budget and travel expenses.

Entire budget academic freedom to pursue your research project in the state-of-the-art infrastructures of EUTOPIA research centres and a stimulating interdisciplinary and international academic community.

International and intersectoral mobility through secondment periods at the fellow’s EUTOPIA-SIF co-host university and with an external secondment host, which can either be an international academic institution or a non-academic partner.
