THE ILLUMINA AGRICULTURAL GREATER GOOD INITIATIVE GRANTS

Applications for the 2024 Agricultural Greater Good Initiative grant is currently being accepted. This initiative recognizes researchers in the agricultural community using Illumina technology to help alleviate global hunger, malnutrition, and poverty.

ELIGIBILITY:

The grant program is open to basic researchers in Agrigenomics at academic, for profit, or nonprofit institutions. Priority will be given to research that increases sustainability, productivity, and nutritional density of the world’s food supply.

In 400 words or less, provide an overview, a statement of work, and a description of the impact of your research. You may also include up to three figures, with legends, and a list of citations (with 200 word count limit).

BENEFIT:

The Grand Prize winner will receive up to $350,000 of in-kind consumables and/or services at list price value on up to 1000 samples of your choice. The winner will be announced during the International Plant and Animal Genome Conference in January 2024.

GLOBAL MENTAL HEALTH POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP AT HARVARD MEDICAL SCHOOL AND AGA KHAN UNIVERSITY

LOCATION: Year 1: Havard Medical School, Boston USA;

Year 2: Aga Khan University – East Africa/ South and Central Asia

The Program supports post-doctoral research fellows in conducting implementation science research designed to translate prevention, assessment, and treatment interventions to specific settings and vulnerable populations in low- and middle- income countries.

ELIGIBILITY:

The Fellowship Program is open to individuals who have received their PhD or completed their MD with a research thesis degree by December 01, 2023. Additionally, applicants should have a record of academic achievement (for example, prior peer-reviewed publications), and have demonstrated a commitment to pursuing a career in global mental health research, particularly in service to the geographies served by Aga Khan University and the Aga Khan Development Network. The Fellowship Program is open to any qualified candidate.

Cover letter outlining interest in the fellowship.

Personal statement of no more than1,000 words addressing the candidate’s passion for a career in impactful research on mental health in LMICs, or how the candidate demonstrates commitment to the issues and countries where they plan to carry out future work.

Writing samples or publication examples (no more than three total)

Names and contact information for three references.

Confirmation of completion of an MD with a research thesis degree or award of a PhD by December 01, 2023. ​
