Empowering Nigeria’s Next Generation of Technology Leaders. Digital Jewels Africa is supporting brilliant STEM students in Nigerian universities with full tuition, professional mentorship, and career-launching technology resources. The scholarship is open to Nigerian undergraduate students enrolled in accredited universities and studying STEM-related disciplines, including Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Engineering, and related fields. Applicants must meet the stated academic and eligibility requirements.

ELIGIBILITY:

Nigerian Citizen: Valid proof of citizenship required.

University Enrollment: Full-time in an accredited federal or state university.

IT Focused: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering.

200-300 Level: Currently in 2nd or 3rd year of study.

High GPA: Minimum 3.5/5.0 CGPA (or equivalent).

Financial Need: Clear demonstration of scholarship requirements.

QUT POSTGRADUATE RESEARCH AWARD (QUTPRA)

QUT is building research excellence by supporting students of exceptional research potential with QUTPRAs. The number of QUTPRAs offered varies from year to year.

ELIGIBILITY:

Citizenship: Australian, Australian or New Zealand and International

New applicants to QUT research degrees need to:

Meet QUT’s admission criteria for a research degree, which includes meeting QUT’s English language requirements

Not be in receipt of another living allowance scholarship to undertake the research degree

Enroll as a full-time, internal student (unless approval for part-time and/or external study is obtained).

Current QUT research students need to have consumed less than the below equivalent full-time study load (EFTSL) to be eligible:

Less than one year EFTSL for enrolled research doctorate students

Less than six months of EFTSL for enrolled research master’s degree students.

Eligible current QUT research students will receive an invitation to submit their application once the round opens.

Future students

These scholarships are awarded through QUT’s annual research scholarship round.

Terms and conditions for QUT Postgraduate Research Award (QUTPRA) (PDF file; 326.1 KB)

BENEFIT:

An annual stipend paid fortnightly to support living costs. From 1 January 2026, the annual stipend rate is $37,010 per annum (currently $33,637 for 2025).

A maximum duration for the scholarship while undertaking a QUT PhD is 3.5 years, and for a QUT MPhil, it is 1.75 years. This includes an extension of up to six months (PhD) or three months (MPhil), if approved for your candidacy.

This is the full-time, tax-exempt rate which will index annually.

You will receive a tuition fee offset/sponsorship, covering the cost of your tuition fees for the first four full-time equivalent years of your doctoral studies or the first two full-time equivalent years of your master’s degree studies.

International students also receive Single Overseas Health Cover if eligible.
