JIM OVIA FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME FOR NIGERIAN UNDERGRADUATES

LOCATION: Nigeria

The Jim Ovia Scholars Program was founded since 1998. It is fully funded by Mr. Jim Ovia to provide financial aid to outstanding Nigeria youths.  The scheme offers an average of 100 opportunities each year for new applicants while renewing applicants are supported annually, conditional on meeting all eligible requirements of the scholarship. 

ELIGIBILITY:

The scholarship is open to all potential students of Nigerian citizens in a Nigerian institution. One hundred (100) awardees are selected each year from a pool of eligible applicants. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of personal intellectual ability, leadership capability and a desire to contribute to society at large to improve the lives of others.

BENEFIT:

Fully funded with an award of 150,000 Nigerian Naira, renewable for up to the entire duration of the beneficiary’s educational tenure. Take note that awards are not automatically renewed annually

MASTERCARD FOUNDATION SCHOLARS PROGRAMAT THE UNIVERSITY OF THE WESTERN CAPE

LOCATION: South Africa

The University of the Western Cape invites applications for a limited number of undergraduate and master’s degree scholarships from qualifying candidates from South Africa and the African continent who are prepared to register for full-time study in 2024. Click here to download the call for applications.

ELIGIBILITY:

The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at UWC supports academically talented youth from South Africa and other parts of the African continent. 

Undergraduate and Masters programs (refer to the official website for eligible field of study)

For Masters:

Be no older than 30 years for the master’s degree studies;

Meet the University’s minimum admissions requirements (for program/discipline-specific information, visit http://www.uwc.ac.za) and must have applied for academic admission to the University for 2024;

Be prepared to begin their first year of registration for full-time master’s degree study in January 2024;

Provide evidence that access to university studies is impeded by social and economic barriers.

For Undergraduate:

Be no older than 26 years for the undergraduate studies;

Meet the University’s minimum admissions requirements (for program/discipline-specific information, visit http://www.uwc.ac.za) and must have applied for academic admission to the University for 2024;

Be prepared to register for full-time undergraduate study in January 2024;

Provide evidence that access to university studies is impeded by social and economic barriers.

BENEFIT:

The Scholars Program at UWC will provide fully-funded opportunities for young scholars to study for i) undergraduate qualifications or ii) master’s degree qualifications.
