TU DELFT’S QUTECH MSC PROGRAM

Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) aims to attract the world’s brightest students to its international classrooms. QuTech offers up to 6 full scholarships. Two for each roadmap: Fault-tolerant Quantum Computing, Quantum Internet and Networked Computing, and Topological Quantum Computing.

ELIGIBILITY:

Excellent international students, specifically interested in quantum technology, and (conditionally) admitted to one of the 2-year Regular TU Delft’s MSc programmes:

Quantum Information Science and Technology (QIST)

Applied Physics,

Computer Science,

Electrical Engineering,

Computer Engineering, or

Embedded Systems

With a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 80 percent or higher of the scale maximum in the bachelor’s degree.

Only students who have been granted a scholarship will be informed by TU Delft via email between mid-March and begin-Juni 2025.

Receiving the scholarship is conditional on the student fulfilling all admission criteria

Please note that Non-EU/EFTA students must include their English test with their application (if required).

BENEFIT:

Full tuition fees per year for a TU Delft MSc programme based on the statutory fee or institutional rate, according to the registered nationality, AND contribution for the living expenses.

Students can choose a MSc project at QuTech, and when receiving a 9 (90%) or higher for their MSc thesis project, they will be offered a PhD position at QuTech.

VU FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM (VUFP) AND NL SCHOLARSHIP FOR NON-EU/EEA APPLICANTS

The VU Fellowship Programme (VUFP) offers talented prospective non- EU/ EEA students the unique opportunity to pursue a Master’s degree at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. VU Amsterdam has committed to providing approximately 1 million euros towards attracting highly motivated and excellent students. 

No separate application is necessary. The NL Scholarship is awarded only for the first year of your study programme. You will not receive the NL Scholarship for the second year of your studies even if you are following a two-year study programme.

ELIGIBILITY:

You hold a non- EU/ EEA passport and you are not eligible for the lower tuition fee.

You do not have the Dutch nationality.

You can prove your academic excellence (GPA equivalent to a Dutch 8).

You are conditionally or unconditionally admitted to the first year of a full-time English-taught Master’s programme at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam starting per September 2025. Please note that:

students starting in February cannot apply,

joint programmes where VU Amsterdam does not administer the admission process are excluded from VUFP.

The degree with which you are seeking admission has not been obtained in the Netherlands.

You do not need to complete a preparatory programme before the start of your Master.

When applying for the VUFP scholarship, you automatically also apply for the NL Scholarship (formerly HSP).

BENEFIT:

The VUFP scholarship covers the tuition fees only. It does not provide any additional allowance towards study or living costs, like rent, food, insurances. Be aware that you must be able to finance these living expenses by yourself.

NL Scholarship is a contribution towards the costs of living. It is €5,000 EUR or €10,000 for the entire duration of your study period.
