GREAT SCHOLARSHIPS AT ROYAL HOLLOWAY, UNIVERSITY OF LONDON 

LOCATION: England

Three GREAT scholarships are available for new full-time postgraduate students from Ghana, Nigeria and Mexico studying any taught master’s subject.

There is one scholarship for a student from Ghana, one for a student from Nigeria, and one for a student from Mexico. 

These scholarships are offered in partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign.

ELIGIBILITY:

A passport holder and a resident of Ghana, Nigeria or Mexico 

Hold an offer to study any full-time Masters subject at Royal Holloway from September 2026 

Have completed an undergraduate degree and be motivated and interested in your proposed subject area 

Meet the English language requirement of Royal Holloway.  

Establish an engagement with the UK as a scholar, through personal and academic fulfilment. 

Willing to attend a networking event of all UK-based GREAT scholars, to discuss experiences and capture perceptions of studying in the UK. 

Willing to maintain contact with the British Council and their HEI and act as an ambassador for the GREAT Scholarships, by sharing experiences of studying in the UK with future GREAT scholars. 

As an alumnus of the GREAT Scholarships, willing occasionally to speak to potential candidates about your experience of studying in the UK 

BENEFIT:

The scholarship programme offers a tuition fee reduction of a minimum of £10,000 to students pursuing one-year postgraduate study in the UK. Students can apply for courses in a range of subjects at participating universities.

YALE UNIVERSITY COUNCIL ON AFRICAN STUDIES: VISITING AFRICAN SCHOLARS FELLOWSHIP

The Council on African Studies at the Whitney and Betty MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies at Yale University invites applications for its Visiting African Scholars Fellowship Program for the 2026-2027 academic year. 

ELIGIBILITY:

The Visiting African Scholars will be expected to be in full-time residence during the academic year beginning August 1, 2026. An earned doctorate in a relevant field and equivalent qualifications for research and teaching are expected for the successful candidates.

Applicants should apply through Interfolio and must include the following:

Cover letter, including current e-mail address and name of Yale faculty member you would want to work with and why.

Current curriculum vitae, including publications.

A 1000-word description of the proposed research project.

Names and contact information for two references who can provide a letter of recommendation if shortlisted.

A summary of the proposed course with the schedule of readings and assignments
