FULLY FUNDED KAUST MICROELECTRONICS WINTER CAMP (MEWC) RESEARCH INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

The KAUST Microelectronics Winter Camp (MEWC) is a six-week research internship program designed to enhance the technical and innovative skills of undergraduate and master’s students. Participants actively lead research projects focused on key areas of microelectronics, mentored by leading faculty and experts.

ELIGIBILITY:

The program features a unique structure, encompassing a variety of activities, including:

Hands-on, cutting-edge research projects in various modern electronics areas

Workshops and technical training in state-of-the-art and emerging technologies, including integrated circuits (ICs), inkjet printing, 3D printing, and self-assembly

Designing a gadget prototype based on the assigned project

Side workshops on research skills and e-poster training

An e-poster competition at the end of the program

Engaging social events

The MEWC invites candidates who meet the following criteria to apply:

Recent graduates, senior undergraduates, or current master’s students in electrical and computer engineering related disciplines

Have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 out of 4.00 or higher

Possess strong English language proficiency

Demonstrate a strong motivation to work on research projects

Meet the academic requirements stated above

Pass interviews with KAUST faculty and administration

UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA (STATE) GRADUATE ASSISTANTSHIP IN CONSERVATION SCIENCES

The University of Minnesota (State) is seeking an outstanding student to pursue a PhD research project to advance the study of white-tailed deer health and disease ecology in partnership with Bemidji State University and the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa (FDL Band). 

ELIGIBILITY:

Bachelor’s in wildlife biology, ecology, or a related field. 

Strong work ethic; excellent oral and written communication skills; high attention to detail; the ability to work independently and with external partners; and deep respect for indigenous sovereignty and dedication to cultivating respectful partnerships with indigenous communities in research. 

A positive attitude and the personality to work/live amicably with others will also be an advantage. 

Willingness and ability to work long hours in the field in extreme weather conditions. 

This research is focused on understanding deer population health dynamics and its association with deer management and survival.

Health data generated from this research will be used to conduct a disease risk analysis to clearly identify and prioritize disease hazards to mitigate during the potential translocation of elk.

The collaborative project will involve a substantial amount of field work (which the student will plan and implement), data collection and management, laboratory activities, and advanced epidemiological and ecological modeling.

Preference will be given to candidates with Native American heritage.
