HARVARD KENNEDY SCHOOL: BELFER CENTER FOR SCIENCE AND INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS INTERNATIONAL SECURITY PROGRAM FELLOWSHIP

ISP offers predoctoral, postdoctoral, and advanced research non deferrable fellowships for one year, with a possibility for renewal. ISP seeks applications from political scientists, lawyers, economists, those in the natural sciences, and others of diverse disciplinary backgrounds. ISP also encourages applications from women, minorities, and citizens of all countries.

ELIGIBILITY:

Applicants for pre­doctoral fellowships must be in a doctoral program, have passed general examinations prior to appointment, and have made significant progress on their dissertations. Applications for postdoctoral/advanced research fellowships are welcome from recent recipients of the Ph.D. or equivalent degree, university faculty members, and employees of government, military, international, humanitarian, and private research institutions who have appropriate professional experience.

Should be one published or unpublished piece written by the applicant (co-authored pieces not accepted) in English that will demonstrate his/her English-language writing ability

Only a limited number of funded fellowships are available: Interested candidates are encouraged to apply for other sources of funding. All applicants should indicate clearly whether they are seeking full or partial funding from the International Security Program and indicate other potential funding sources. Nonstipendiary appointments are also offered.

Application Deadline: The fellowship application period for the 2026–2027 academic year will open Wednesday, October 1, 2025 and close Monday, December 1, 2025. Recommendation Letters are due December 15, 2025. Applicants will be notified by February 15, 2026.

BENEFIT:

The International Security Program offers annual stipends of 56,000 USD to postdoctoral research fellows and 46,000 USD to pre­doctoral research fellows. Postdoctoral fellows who have received their Ph.D. within the past five years are benefits-eligible; predoctoral fellows and postdoctoral fellows who received their Ph.D. more than five years ago will receive full or partial reimbursement for health insurance premiums.

RADBOUD UNIVERSITY NL MASTER’S SCHOLARSHIP (FOR PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS)

The NL Scholarship (formerly known as Holland Scholarship) is meant for international students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) who want to do their Master’s degree in the Netherlands. The scholarship gives excellent students the opportunity to study at Radboud University.

This NL Scholarship (NLS) is co-financed by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and Radboud University.

ELIGIBILITY:

The NL Scholarship (NLS) will always be combined with the Radboud Scholarship Programme (RSP). This means that students applying for the NLS must also apply for the RSP. You can be awarded both the NLS and RSP, or just the RSP. You cannot be awarded just the NLS. 

Hold a non-EU/non-EEA passport.

Are not eligible for the lower EU/EEA tuition fee for other reasons.

Have (will obtain) a Bachelor’s degree achieved outside the Netherlands, have no degrees achieved in the Netherlands and did not receive any previous education in the Netherlands (exchange programmes excluded, provided that they are part of the Bachelor’s degree achieved outside the Netherlands).

Meet the English language proficiency requirement for the Master’s programme of your choice.

Have been fully admitted to the English-taught Master’s programme starting 1 September 2026 as stated in the formal letter of admission.

Have applied for the Radboud Scholarship Programme for 2026-2027, starting 1 September 2026.

Are able to comply with the conditions for obtaining a visa for the Netherlands.

Are enrolled at Radboud University as a full-time student for the academic year and Master’s programme for which the scholarship will be awarded.

A maximum of 12 scholarships will be available at Radboud University for the academic year 2026-2027 for English-taught Master’s programmes at the following faculties: Faculty of Arts (1), Faculty of Law (1), Nijmegen School of Management (2), Faculty of Philosophy, Theology and Religious Studies (1), Faculty of Science (4), Faculty of Social Sciences (3).

You can apply by indicating during your application procedure for a Master’s programme in the OSIRIS Application system that you wish to apply for a NL Scholarship.

BENEFIT:

The scholarship amounts to €5,000. The grant is awarded for 1 year and can only be received once. You will receive this in the first year of your study programme. Please note that this is not a full scholarship. The costs of living and studying in the Netherlands are not covered by the scholarship.
