Canada’s leading international leadership conference — now in its third edition. Following two successful international editions, the One Future Conference returns to Canada in 2027, bringing its largest and most ambitious gathering yet.

ELIGIBILITY:

The conference will be held from 12 to 15 May 2027 at the Residence & Conference Centre, Downtown Toronto, Canada.

Applications are open to individuals aged 17–47 years from all countries and nationalities. Participants from all academic and professional backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

The One Future Conference 2027 is an international leadership conference bringing together approximately 300 young leaders, students, professionals, entrepreneurs, researchers, and changemakers from around the world for four days of learning, collaboration, networking, and leadership development in Toronto, Canada.

Students, Young Professionals, Entrepreneurs, Researchers, Academics, Civil Society Leaders, Public Servants, Policy Professionals, NGO Representatives, Community Leaders, social entrepreneurs, and Youth Advocates are eligible to apply

No specific academic background is required.

Applications for the Fully Funded and Partially Funded categories are evaluated by the One Future Conference selection committee based on factors including leadership potential, motivation, application responses, achievements, and the overall strength of the applicant pool. Geographic and gender diversity are also considered to ensure broad international representation.

Each category offers different benefits to suit the needs of participants. Leeds University Business School invites applications from prospective postgraduate researchers who wish to commence study for a PhD in the academic year 2026/27 across the Leeds University Business School.

ELIGIBILITY:

Country eligibility: International (open to all nationalities, including the UK)

Researchers work across a range of research areas to produce rigorous research that has relevance and positive impact on practice, policy, and society. These areas include,

Strategic innovation in management and leadership

Understanding how digitalization is reshaping work and employment

Stimulating UK growth and productivity

Promoting inclusion in the workplace and society

Understanding organisational and consumer behaviour

Building sustainable business futures

Navigating global markets and international systems

Award must be taken up by 1st February 2027

The award is available for new Postgraduate Researchers undertaking full-time or part-time research study leading to the degree of PhD.

Students who are already registered for Ph.D. research study are excluded from applying.

Applicants must live within reasonable distance of the University of Leeds whilst in receipt of the scholarship

You are required to submit your application for a PhD place (Stage 1) by Tuesday, 8th September 2026, to give sufficient time to consider your PhD application ahead of the scholarship deadline; otherwise, your scholarship application will not be considered.

The deadline to be considered for the Leeds University Business School PhD Excellence Scholarships is Tuesday, 15th September 2026. Before you can apply for this scholarship, you will need to apply for your study place and have your 9-digit student identification number. 

All scholarship applications will be considered after the deadline. Only complete applications will be considered.

The final list of awards is based on academic merit, and no other factors, such as financial hardship, are taken into account.

Applicants will be e-mailed within six to eight weeks of the deadline to confirm the outcome.

First, apply for a research place of study by completing a study application form. Please state clearly the department scholarship you will be applying for. You will be expected to meet our eligibility criteria for PhD candidates.

In order to be considered for one of the scholarships, you must submit all the required supporting documents for your application for Ph.D. study.

Once you have received your 9-digit student ID number, move on to stage 2.

BENEFIT:

Leeds University Business School is investing in research excellence with 2 PhD Excellence Scholarships within our Marketing Department, providing full fees with a maintenance allowance that matches UKRI rates (currently £21,805 in 2026/27), which rises annually in line with UKRI rates for 3.5 years. This scholarship opportunity is open to UK/international applicants.
