THE BARTLETT PROMISE PRESCOT SCHOLARSHIP FOR A SUB-SAHARAN AFRICAN FEMALE STUDENT

The Bartlett Promise Prescot Scholarship is a fully funded scholarship for a Sub-Saharan African female student on the MSc Infrastructure Investment and Finance, starting in the 2026-27 academic year. Applicants should apply using the Bartlett Promise Sub-Saharan Africa Master’s application form. 

ELIGIBILITY:

All Bartlett Promise Prescot Sub-Saharan Africa Master’s Scholarship criteria apply with the addition of two criteria:

Applicants for the Bartlett Promise Prescot Scholarship must have an offer of admission to study on the MSc Infrastructure Investment and Finance programme starting in the 2026-27 academic year.

Applicants for the Bartlett Promise Prescot Scholarship must identify as female.

be a national of one of The Bartlett’s approved list of Sub-Saharan African (SSA) countries and resident in an eligible SSA country

must not hold a British or dual British citizenship

must not have received at any time in the past or be in receipt of any funding for a master’s or equivalent qualification, at any university which is outside the Bartlett’s approved list of SSA counties at the time of applying up to 01 October 2027

have an offer of admission to a Bartlett master’s course for study in 2026-27, which is either unconditional or conditional only on English language assessment by 29 March 2026

be in financial need as assessed by UCL

In addition to these, candidates should ideally also meet at least one of the following additional criteria:

Is a forced migrant

Is the first generation in the family to attend university at undergraduate level

Is the first generation in family to attend university at postgraduate level

Eligible SSA country: Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Republic of Congo, Cote D’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia (including Somaliland), South Africa, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe

Refugees, asylum seekers, or those who have been granted a temporary form of leave as the result of an asylum or human rights application (e.g., limited leave to remain, discretionary leave to remain, humanitarian protection, or UASC leave).

BENEFIT:

The Bartlett Promise Prescot Scholarship fully covers fees, stipend, flights and visa costs for a Sub-Saharan African female student

UCL ACCESS OPPORTUNITY SCHOLARSHIP

Application Deadline: Monday 18 May 2026

LOCATION: England

The purpose of the Access Opportunity Scholarship is to support those who, because of their immigration status, are not able to secure student loans for their higher education.

ELIGIBILITY:

Applicants should:

Hold an offer of admission to UCL to study a full-time undergraduate degree for 2026/27 intake and

Be asylum seekers, children of asylum seekers or unaccompanied asylum-seeking children who are seeking asylum in the UK or forced migrants who are based in the UK and have been granted a temporary form of leave as the result of an asylum application or human rights application (e.g. limited leave to remain, discretionary leave to remain, humanitarian
protection); and

Be unable to access student finance (tuition fee or maintenance loan) because of their immigration status.

The deadline for the Access Opportunity scholarship is Monday, 18 May 2026.

BENEFIT:

The scholarship will consist of tuition fees and an allowance of £13,762 pa (this is the 2025/26 rate; 2026/27 to be confirmed) for the normal duration of your programme at UCL. Please note the allowance may be reduced if your leave status has restrictions on what additional support you can receive. 

Annual renewal of the scholarship is subject to satisfactory academic progress.
