Monash Graduate Scholarships (MGS) provides a stipend to assist with living costs during study. Funded by Monash University, these scholarships support both domestic and international students undertaking Research Doctorate and Research Masters degrees at a Monash campus in Australia.
ELIGIBILITY:
You must be one of the following: An Australian citizen, A New Zealand citizen, Australian permanent resident, Australian humanitarian visa holder, and An International student
Meet Monash’s competitive scholarship selection process requirements; and
Meet Monash English language proficiency requirements.
Monash scholarships are highly competitive and are awarded based on academic excellence, research outputs, and prior research experience.
If you are awarded an MGS, it’s important to familiarize yourself with the associated conditions and benefits as outlined in the policy and procedures.
Graduate research scholarship applications are submitted at the same time as your course application, unless you are already enrolled. Whether you are a new applicant or a current student, the myApp Portal is used for both course admission and scholarship applications. You do not need to select specific scholarships; eligible applicants are automatically considered for all available graduate research scholarships.
BENEFIT:
Total scholarship value: $37,145 p.a. (2026 rate)
The MGS provides:
A living allowance (stipend), and
A relocation allowance, if eligible.
There are a number of tuition scholarships available for our international students that can be packaged with this stipend.
