MASTERCARD FOUNDATION SCHOLARS PROGRAM AT ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY (ASU)

The Mastercard Foundation, in partnership with Arizona State University, will provide 160 graduate scholarships from 2025 to 2030. Scholars will pursue ASU degrees online with in-person support and wrap-around services from Kepler College in Rwanda, blending flexible online learning with personalized guidance and community engagement. 

ELIGIBILITY:

Must meet academic and English proficiency requirements;
Must be an African citizen committed to ethical leadership and community engagement;

Applicants must be between 18 and 33 years;

Proven leadership, service, and academic excellence;

Undergraduate degree earned by July 2025;

No prior graduate degree started or completed before August 2025;

Must reside in Kigali, Rwanda for the program duration.

BENEFIT:

The scholarship covers full tuition fees, on-campus accommodation, and comprehensive support for the two-year graduate program. Recipients will also benefit from individual mentorship, leadership development, and engaging events and programming. Additionally, Scholars will participate in a two-month summer intensive experience at ASU in the United States between the first and second year, aligned with their program of study.

CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS FOR NEW STUDENTS

The scholarship program at Concordia University Irvine provides competent, curious, and accomplished students with special opportunities to pursue their scholarly interests.

ELIGIBILITY:

Presidential Honors Scholarship: 3.9 GPA

Honors Scholarship: 3.7 GPA

Academic Scholarships: 4.00 GPA (High school GPA is calculated using overall weighted academic coursework) and must be fully admitted; renewable each year with minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA

Golden Eagles Scholarship: Less than 3.00 GPA; high school GPA is calculated using overall weighted academic coursework and must be fully admitted; renewable each year with minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA. Excludes students receiving athletic scholarships. Cannot be combined with an Academic Scholarship.

Golden Eagles Scholarship: Less than 2.50 GPA. Cumulative GPA from community, state, or private college with 30 completed units.
International Students: TOEFL 79(IBT) /IELTS above 6.5 and must be fully admitted; renewable each year with minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA. Excludes students receiving athletic scholarships. Cannot be combined with an Academic Scholarship.

Application required. Renewable each year with a cumulative 3.5 GPA for a maximum of 8 semesters or until the completion of requirements for a first bachelor’s degree, whichever is sooner.

To qualify for a Concordia University institutional scholarship opportunity, a student must maintain full-time undergraduate status for the entire academic year.

A student must maintain the required GPA (see Additional Notes for each scholarship below) at the end of each semester for the academic scholarship to be renewed.

Concordia University’s institutional aid must go towards institutional charges, such as tuition, fees, university housing, and meal plans.

Academic Scholarships: Regents: $22,000, 3.90 – 4.00 GPA
Provost: $19,000, 3.60-3.89 GPA
Dean: $16,000, 3.30-3.59 GPA
Trustee: $14,000, 3.00-3.29 GPA

Golden Eagles Scholarship: $12,000

Golden Eagles (International) Scholarship: $12,000
