EDINBURGH NAPIER UNIVERSITY WEST AFRICA BACHELOR’S/TAUGHT MASTER’S SCHOLARSHIP 

LOCATION: United Kingdom

The University of Edinburgh has partial scholarships for self-funding bachelor’s or taught master’s students from West Africa.

ELIGIBILITY:

To be eligible for this award, you must be:

Domiciled in Benin, Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal and Togo at the time of application. If you are applying from another country in this region, please refer to our Sub-Saharan Africa Scholarship.

Self-funding your course.

Meet the entry criteria for a bachelor’s or taught master’s course in September 2025 and January 2026.

Scholarships are awarded automatically once you have paid your deposit payment towards your tuition fees. The number of scholarships is limited, and they are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Once you have paid your deposit, please email cas@napier.ac.uk to be considered.

Successfully progressing to each year of study to claim the award as an undergraduate student (up to a maximum award of £8,000).

For postgraduate students, the scholarship is tenable for one academic year.

BENEFIT:

They have a limited number of partial scholarships worth between £1,000 and £2,000 (GBP), available for self-funding students domiciled in West Africa (see countries below). 

For undergraduate students, the scholarship amount is available for each year of undergraduate study. This is subject to successful progression to each academic year, up to a maximum of £8,000 (GBP).

FACULTY OF MATHEMATICS UNDERGRADUATE ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIP FOR BLACK INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF WATERLOO

Several scholarships, valued at $20,000 to $40,000 each, paid over eight academic terms, will be provided to Black international undergraduate students (study permit, paying international fees) entering Year One of any full-time degree program in the Faculty of Mathematics. Selection will be based on a combination of academic achievement and community involvement through extracurricular and/or volunteer activities. 

ELIGIBILITY:

Full-time undergraduate Black international students entering Year One of any program in the Faculty of Mathematics 

Black students may include those of African, Afro-Caribbean, Black Canadian, Afro-Latine, African American, Afro-Indigenous, or other African descent 

study permit, paying international fees 

Selection will be based on a combination of academic achievement and community involvement through extracurricular and/or volunteer activities 

Preference will be given to students who best demonstrate what receiving this award would mean to their pursuit of post­secondary studies 

Mathematics→Business Administration (Laurier) and Computer Science (Waterloo)—Double Degree, Business Administration (Laurier) and Mathematics (Waterloo)—Double Degree, Honours Mathematics, Mathematics/Financial Analysis and Risk Management, Computer Science, Mathematics/Business Administration, Mathematics/Chartered Professional Accountancy

Access the application on our forms web page. Preference will be given to students who best demonstrate what receiving this award would mean to their pursuit of post­secondary studies. To be considered, students must submit an award application by April 15. The scholarship will be issued in eight equal payments (1A-4B). Payments beyond Year One are dependent on maintaining a minimum overall average of 80% and full-time enrollment in the Faculty of Mathematics.
