UNIVERSITY OF GUELPH’S DR. FRANCO J. VACCARINO PRESIDENT’S UNDERGRADUATE ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIP

The Dr. Franco J. Vaccarino President’s Scholarship is the University of Guelph’s most prestigious undergraduate entrance award for international students. It was established in honour of the University’s eighth president, Dr. Franco Vaccarino, to acknowledge his remarkable impact on the University.

ELIGIBILITY:

You are eligible to apply if you:

Have submitted an application for admission and have a valid U of G student ID number;

Are an International (VISA) student;

Are entering the first semester of any undergraduate degree program at the University of Guelph;

Have not previously attended a post-secondary institution;

Have at least an admission average equivalent to a 90.0% Canadian curriculum; and

Have made significant leadership contributions to your school and community.

BENEFIT:

One scholarship is awarded each year to the top international student. It is valued at $42,500; it includes a summer research assistantship position, mentorship by one of the university’s leading professors, and guaranteed first-choice preference residence for first-year of study (the residence deposit must be made by the residence deposit deadline date).

UCL GLOBAL UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP

The UCL Global Undergraduate Scholarship aims to enable and encourage international students from low-income backgrounds to pursue full-time undergraduate degree studies at UCL.

ELIGIBILITY:

Candidates can be from any country outside the UK but must fulfill all of the following criteria:

be eligible to pay the overseas tuition fee rate;

come from a low-income background*;

AND have submitted an admission application for a full-time undergraduate degree at UCL in 2026/27. 

For details on how UCL defines household income, please refer to our essential information page. While UCL generally considers “low income” as £42,875 or less, this is intended as a guide. We will still consider your scholarship application if your household income exceeds this amount.  

The scholarship is valid for the standard duration of the undergraduate programme.

To be eligible for this scholarship, you don’t need an offer of admission, but you must have your fee status confirmed by UCL Admissions. This can happen shortly after applying or just before an offer is made. If you can’t access the application form, it may be because UCL hasn’t confirmed your admission yet. Please ensure you apply for admission well before the scholarship deadline.

Scholarships Available for 2026/27

Up to 33 scholarships will be offered in 2026/27, including:

10 scholarships covering full tuition fees, a maintenance allowance, and a fixed allowance for additional costs (e.g., Immigration Health Surcharge and visa fees). The exact amounts for the maintenance and fixed allowances will be confirmed at a later date.

20 scholarships covering full tuition fees only.

3 scholarships covering full tuition fees specifically for students from India.
