UNIVERSITY OF AUCKLAND INTERNATIONAL STUDENT EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP

LOCATION: New Zealand

The University of Auckland International Student Excellence Scholarship’s main purpose is to attract new international students of high caliber to enroll in undergraduate or postgraduate study of one year or more at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland.

ELIGIBILITY:

To be eligible for Scholarship consideration, an applicant must:

Be an international student

Be either a new student who has received a conditional or unconditional offer of admission, or an English Language Academy (ELA) student who has received a conditional or unconditional offer of admission, or a student enrolled, or enrolling, in the Summer Start International programme who has received a conditional or unconditional offer of admission and

Be enrolled, or enrolling, full-time in either a Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) or master’s degree, or an undergraduate degree (applying with overseas secondary or post-secondary qualifications), or a UoA: Your Way Master of Engineering Project Management programme, or a UoA: Your Way Master of Civil Engineering program at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland.

Students who have already commenced study at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland, excluding study in the Summer Start International programme, students who have undertaken any tertiary-level study in New Zealand; or students enrolling in a Business master programme in the Graduate School of Management (GSM), excluding the Master of Applied Finance, the Master of Business Analytics, and the Master of Supply Chain Management, are not eligible to apply for this Scholarship.

A grade point equivalent (GPE) of at least 6.00 is required for Scholarship consideration

The basis of selection will be academic merit

The quality of the letter of application and endorsement by the applicant’s referee. The Selection Committee may also consider the applicant’s country of origin and how the intended programme of study aligns with the University’s strategic aims.

The Scholarship will be awarded by the University of Auckland Council on the recommendation of a Selection Committee comprising the Deputy Vice Chancellor Strategic Engagement (or nominee), the Director of the International Office (or nominee), and two faculty representatives from the International Committee.

Applicants who have been offered a Scholarship must accept their offer by the date prescribed in the letter of award; otherwise, the Scholarship offer will be forfeited

BENEFIT:

Up to 50 Scholarships will be awarded annually and will comprise a contribution towards compulsory tuition fees of up to $10,000 each.

BINGHAMTON UNIVERSITY UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP

LOCATION: USA

Students of exceptional achievement may be selected upon admission to Binghamton for one of three types of significant four-year scholarship commitments: President’s Scholarship, Provost’s Scholarship, and Dean’s Scholarship. Full-time enrollment and minimum grade-point averages are required to maintain eligibility.

ELIGIBILITY:

Must be an Undergraduate applying to study at Binghamton University and complete the admission process.

All undergraduate applicants will be considered. There is no separate application required

There is no application process; awards are competitive and vary in amount.

All applicants are considered for scholarships at Binghamton.

Binghamton is fortunate in that they attract high-quality students. All of their incoming students are at the top of their class, and their scholarship base is competitive and highly selective, just like their student body.

Criteria used for Binghamton scholarships include many factors, such as academic merit, donor preferences, majors, program participation and very often financial need, as determined by the FAFSA.

BENEFIT:

Twenty incoming first-year students receive a scholarship of $10,000 per year for up to four years of study, so long as the scholarship recipient maintains a specified GPA.

Five incoming first-year students will receive a scholarship up to the in-state full cost of attendance (approximately $30,000) per year for up to four years of undergraduate study, so long as the scholarship recipient maintains a specified GPA.
