UNIVERSITY OF MANITOBA GRADUATE FELLOWSHIP (UMGF)

The University of Manitoba and the Faculty of Graduate Studies offer the University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowships (UMGFs). The fellowships are awarded annually to graduate students who have demonstrated intellectual ability and academic accomplishments. 

ELIGIBILITY:

Are enrolled in or plan to enroll in the Faculty of Graduate Studies at the University of Manitoba in either the Master’s or Ph.D. program as full-time students. Not including pre-Master’s or Occasional students, Master’s of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Finance (MFin), and Master of Supply Chain Management (MSCM). These graduate programs do not meet the eligibility criteria for Tri-Agency graduate student awards.

Minimum admission grade point average of 3.00 based on their admission to their current graduate program. Some departments require a higher GPA to be eligible;

Show great promise as researchers and as graduate students.

Are admitted to, or registered in, a program that is eligible for NSERC, SSHRC, or CIHR graduate student awards.

The UMGFs may be held in part or full for the first two years of the Master’s program (from the date of admission) and for the first four years of a Ph.D. program (from the date of admission).

2024-2025 academic year. UM Graduate students must be admitted & registered Full-Time in both September 2024 (202490 term) & January 2025 (202510 term) to be eligible for the 2024-2025 aid year.

BENEFIT:

The fellowships, valued at $18,000 at the Ph.D. level and at $14,000 at the Master’s level

UNIVERSITY OF CALGARY NAVIN AND USHA VARSHNEY INTERNATIONAL BURSARY IN ENGINEERING

The University of Calgary is offering Navin and Usha Varshney International Bursary in Engineering annual scholarships to an international undergraduate student entering their first year in the Schulich School of Engineering.

ELIGIBILITY:

Student type: Undergraduate

Faculty: Engineering

Year entering: 1st

Citizenship/residency: International

Offered annually to an international undergraduate student entering their first year in the Schulich School of Engineering who has satisfied the English Language Proficiency requirement and who is required to pay international tuition fees. Students entering The International Foundations Program are not eligible.
