UNIVERSITY OF GUELPH PRESIDENT’S INTERNATIONAL ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIP

In support of the University’s strategic direction of internationalism, entrance scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis and based on the admission average at the time of the offer of admission or in May and/or in August. 

ELIGIBILITY:

Citizenship: Non-Canadian-PR-PP

Recipients must register full-time (minimum 2.0 credits) for both the fall and winter semesters to receive the full value. Students offered a scholarship who subsequently (after their offer) pay the domestic tuition and fees will have their scholarship value updated to correspond with the domestic values (University of Guelph Entrance Scholarship E0291). Entrance scholarships cannot be deferred. Students who defer their offer of admission are reconsidered the following year based on the availability of scholarships for that cohort.

Students who pay the international student tuition fees and apply as an international student applicant, entering semester one of any degree program, who have not attended a post-secondary institution and have a record of high academic achievement.

UNIVERSITY OF GUELPH’S DR. FRANCO J. VACCARINO PRESIDENT’S UNDERGRADUATE ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIP

The Dr. Franco J. Vaccarino President’s Scholarship is the University of Guelph’s most prestigious undergraduate entrance award for international students. It was established in honour of the University’s eighth president, Dr. Franco Vaccarino, to acknowledge his remarkable impact on the University.

ELIGIBILITY:

You are eligible to apply if you:

Have submitted an application for admission and have a valid U of G student ID number;

Are an International (VISA) student;

Are entering the first semester of any undergraduate degree program at the University of Guelph;

Have not previously attended a post-secondary institution;

Have at least an admission average equivalent to a 90.0% Canadian curriculum; and

Have made significant leadership contributions to your school and community.

BENEFIT:

One scholarship is awarded each year to the top international student. It is valued at $42,500; it includes a summer research assistantship position, mentorship by one of the university’s leading professors, and guaranteed first-choice preference residence for first-year of study (the residence deposit must be made by the residence deposit deadline date).
